Anyway I just saw these Yoruba movies it was quite interesting especially since am not really into Yoruba’s movies like that.

The first was Ekuro ( thought us that someone who isn't nobody today could be someone important tomorrow)

Ara meaning Styles
( i cried after the movie was done, the movie was about how people should get tested of STI OR HIV before getting married)

The movie, letters from a stranger is a very interesting movie, it comprises of the corporate life and romance; coping with your love life and meeting with the demands of your office, the actors in the film were very good especially the Ibru lady, because she was a new act (because that was the first time I was seeing her in her in any movie). I also loved the passion of another actor named Sadiq in the movie (can't remember his real name).
The setting was superb and I liked the placing of the actors to their roles.
The only issue I had was with the continuity, otherwise, it was a very good film. Kudos.

Vantage Point!

Being a purrrrrrrrrrrrrrfectionist, I can only afford to give iit---------------2**s!

Those people just chop our $20 for nuffin'!  Plus another $15 for confectionaries! . . . . . .pieces!

On the good side:

Some suspense

Minimal use of profanities

Good for ages--just enough violence to make them understand how to use a gun

No nudity--for a change or love scenes

Good casting--more fresh faces

On the bad side:

I thought only Nigerians used "flashbacks" to prolong movies unnecessarily.  One more flashback to 11:59--I was going to ask for a refund! Angry. . . . . . .for a movie only 1 1/2hrs long--flashbacks took 1 hr.

I will go and research the life history on Forest Whitaker to ascertain he really has a "neurological" handicap condition before I make unkind comments about his performance

Use of "terrorism" as a theme plot is really overdone--need more fresh ideas please

The use of doubles---did not add or subtract from the excitement of the movie

Bottom line:  I would have waited to get it on DVD!  But it took me out of the house at least! Kiss

@ Gamine

Its true,  that Fred guy didn't fit into the scene at all,
from my point of view I did'nt see any thing romantic about him,
but he actually acted out the mummy's boy role very well.

Do you remember that scene where Yemi was expressing his feelings to Genevieve?
that "I send you pieces" with the look he gave her was enough to send any girl gaga!
If Desmond Eliot was the one acting that role I don't think i would have tripped lke that. because that was d first time I saw that guy act like that.
I was actually watching it with my cousin we screamed because that was a very good expression and turn of event.

@almondjoy

did you notice? your favorable assessment of vantage point and your gripes about it cancel each other out.
in the end, whats your bottomline?

terrorism overworn? hmm. i thought only cold war/communists/aliens/eastern european baddies/zombies/corrupt politicians (is there any other sort?) etc are worn out! terrorism IS the new enemy. it gives the US the creeps, its the new-new thing so unless you find us a hot suitable issue to be the new baddie i'll say they'll keep flogging THIS near-dead horse ad infinitum ad nauseum ad whatever

My bottom line is that the movie is nothing to write home about.  Yes, I guess terrorism gives everyone the creeps, but I just wish new ideas can come up.  I left after watching the movie with nothing to think about.  Not challenging at all.  I don't like that feeling.

you have to concede it has thrills, and the premise is a refreshing break from the likes of, say, RAMBO 4.

Why Did I get Married is a good movie especially for (married) people who have problems in their relationships, with stars like Janet Jackson, Jill Scott and the like, it sure is a great movie to watch. Also, The Bucket List is one hell of a movie everyone should see, i'm not good at reviewing movies but you can search for it on the internet and i bet, you're going to love it.

One of my all time favoutrites is SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, 1994

Tim Robbins as Andy Dufresne
Morgan Freeman as Ellis Boyd "Red" Redding

The story line is tight and the movie spellbinding.
