Saw Vantage Point yesterday and I was quite disappointed. . . The director obviously spent more time on the grand concept of the different story angles than the actual story. . The real story lacked depth. . .and i found a flaw in one of the story angles. . . the story from Matthew Fox's point of view. .thats Kent In the original view, thats from the TV crew, 2 shots were fired at the President, then he goes down. , then Dennis Quaid launches at Kent and starts barging him with questions and the bomb went off. . But in Forest Withacker's view, Dennis Quaid was with him using the camcoder to zoom into the room where the bullets came from, then the bomb went off. . So where was Quaid when the bomb went off. . .??Mite be wrong though, because i was dozing off while watchin Good car chasing at the end though, but they spent so much time on the concept and neglected the story, which I think is the movie. . ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Don't forget the nauseating use of flash backs. I thought I was watching 24 or something. My dear husband was about to punch the next person if he saw one more "12:59" in that movie. A major waste of time I say. If not the use of flash backs, the movie would have lasted only 30 minutes! Forrest Whittaker was terrible in the movie (Vantage Pioint). Ugh. They tried so hard to make it some whiny sympathetic movie with the foolish little girl walking into traffic and Forrest whing like a lunatic abut his family. Blah give me a break!
Revolver is better than Bank Job
although Bank Job wasnt bad but it focused too much on the women and frankly if it were up to me, women wouldnt exist in movies esp if their only role is to serve as the "sex kitten". Now roles like Pam grier in Jackie Brown or Uma in Kill Bill are fine and you don't get those often

Bank Job was decent. If you excuse the cheap opportunities for some of the women there to show their dry boobs for no reason. But coming from the "Brits", I could not expect anything better. Infact, I think a couple walked out of the movie theatre when the dry sleazy scenes started coming up. Nothing erotic or romantic about them at all. Just dry! I loved the suspense and the story line. It reminded me of "The Italian Job"! I went home to watch "The Italian Job" all over again just to see that dude again! |

I've hardly said more than a word in reference to Jet Li about this film. I think Jackie's flair for comedy and martial arts will be obvious in the film.

Lmao iice, anytime I go on my "women should be removed from movies' rant, guys stare at me like I'm insane, gues sthey need their eyecandy, whatever. Of course I have nothing against females as I am one but alot of time their roles are so bloody unnecessary In Snatch, there was just ONE woman really and that was Brad Puitt's mom and she served a purpose. Take Departed, was that stupid tart Leo was sleeping with necessary to the story, um no. Same with Jennifer Connelly's character in Blood Diamond, I can go on and on, but i wont, for now  anyway yea Bank Job was pretty entertaining but I still think Revolver was better even though Snatch still remains as my fav Jason Statham movie  A dude can just play the reporter part. It's always love interest thing Be making unnecessary parts for women.
Ok if the movie is entertaining, i'l give it a shot. Besides i like heist movies

Ok Jet li is stiff, but like TOH, i loved Hero. And he is more in his element in a chinese movie. I prefer him in silent roles like Lethal Weapon 4 Jackie Chan is more of a comedian.

I think Jet Li is cool. The problem i think is from the roles he's playing. Jet Li and Jackie Chan approach the martial arts in their movies with unique styles. Jet Li has force, speed, stamina, tactics and superb styles. Jackie Chan's style however includes manouverability, doggedness, agility, wit and sometimes power. Jet Li fights head on while Jackie Chan most of the times starts by defending himself and then uses the opponents power against them. I have watched plenty of Jet Li's movies produced in china like Once Upon a time in China 1&2&3, Fong Sai Yuk 1&2, Lord of the Wu Tang Clan (Evil Cult), Fist of Legend, Black Mask, Swordsman etc. I can assure you that anybody who has watched this movies will agree that Jet Li is in his element. But it has come to my attention that Jet Li has been picking shitty roles in american films that don't do him justice to his skills. That i think is where the problem lies. Whenever i want to watch a comedy kung-fu, i watch jolly old jackie chan, but when i want hard core, butt whupping traditional chinese movie, give me Jet Li anytime, anyday.

Just don't like women who are there to s4rve jhust ONE purpose. If being the "love interest/sex kitten" is just ONE of her many roles in the movie then I'm fine. Curse of The Golden Flower has Gong Li(gorgeous woman, great actress), her role was VERY important even though she d9oes play a demented love interest. Random black dudes are usually placed in mediocre movies and since when it come sto film, I try not to watch crap like that anyway , I don't have to deal with such somze, I can't watch movies with you man. if the plot of COGF is complicated for yiou, then I'D be destined to watch American Pie for the rest of my life.  . Stop spoiling the movie for yourself and bloody watch it. Very entertaining. |
