have some of the most educated people in the world and yet we can not handle issues many in places with lower levels of education seem to be handling ok. Does that not make you wonder what in the world the solution might be for us??

I wonder if you looked at literacy rate in Nigeria with some African countries. Skewed argument, since this topic is not about educated folks in Nigeria, but in the United States of America. These educated Nigerians are living the American dream and should not be held responsible of governing Nigeria.  Yar'dua is the first president Nigeria has produced with a university degree. This tells you how educated we are. By the way also include Northerners in your equation and you will see that they have diluted some educational gains made by southerners.

We have no proof of the news being valid. What we have are more documents making claims that Africans are more educated but not that Nigerians are most educated in that group so I am still hopeful  that maybe education might still be on the list of possible solutions to the problem in that country

Even with your IT and Boolean Logic experience, you still don't want  toknow how veracity is applied. You are disputing logic without putting out a counter logic. How can you invalidate a claim like this?  I saw also your reckless naivety of thought,  that "more documents are making claims" and yet you have not provided any counter claim in audio-visual format since  documents are used to make claims and   are unproven. Maybe you should tell us  what is the ratio of Nigeria to Africa in the US. This topic is also about Nigeria's education attainment written and researched by a newspaper columnist who is more credible than your anonymous posts and sentimental ideas. If I had an option  on whom to believe due to credibility, it will be the former since you cannot even convince us with your warped ideas.  If you were a lawyer I will not even take you  for pro-bono

Remember  argue facts with no facts.

Talking about educated Nigerians flooding the US, have you ever wondered why those Nigerians are mostly from the South?, ie Igbos, Yorubas, Edos, Efiks, etc?

I think the reason is because they have been ethnically cleansed from Nigeria.
Very few if any well educated Hausa or Fulani person would hang around in the US 1 day after graduation, because a better job awaits them back home.

@adconline,

I've been following your posts on this thread, and I must commend your efforts in trying to explain logic to the "mid-level .NET engineer" a.k.a. Kobojunkie.   However, I'll advise that you don't take Kobojunkie seriously, because her understanding of logic is still at the 10th grade level (SS-1). Arguing with her is like explaining the concept of recursion to an okada driver - an utter waste of time!

@Richyblack.

There is no need to strangle yourself in order to score a cheap point.  Oh. . i get, your cheap ego? Keep massaging it, after all, that's what Nigerians are known for. "underachieve, over-celebrate" One day Nigerians will begin to block the roads to celebrate their hen giving birth to chicks. Na una go tire, sorry ooo:P

As good as this news may sound, i will not over celebrate it for these simple reasons:

1. It does not reflect on the PHD holders who have come back to loot the treasury through politics.
2. Bad news about Nigerians in US supercede the these few good ones.
3. If they are this educated, why do these guys still engage in fraudulent activities? Let me answer that for you; the fraudsters are only 1% among all.  aaaahhh . ,  . . . . give me a break.

Now, I'm not restricting this argument to only the so called educated Nigerians in US; it goes out to all countries as some one from either UK or Japan will soon come to tell us why we should over-celebrate for achieving very little.

I rather be an uneducated wheel barrow pusher than be the usual Nigerian educated fraudster, scammer, shoplifter etc. Funny thing is that these guys are usually PHD holders. Grin

@IPMB

If Richy is bold enough, lets reveal ourselves here or anywhere else he chooses so we can know who is more educated, more responsible and also what we do  for a living.
Hand to mouth web designers wey full for here no go allow person rest again?

You keep using the word "over-celebrate":

1. Can you outline, clearly, what constitutes "over-celebrating" in this context?

2. Is merely stating the fact that Africans are the most educated group in the United States* tantamount to "over-celebrating"?
