Interswitch Payment Option Now Available For Our Nigerian Clients
« on: May 28, 2008, 09:36 AM »

Residents of Nigeria may now use any InterSwitch card (CashCard or bank issued ATM card) to transfer payment to Web4Africa. Your card needs to have the InterSwitch logo behind it and you should use an InterSwitch ATM. All 25 banks in Nigeria are currently on the InterSwitch network. This means you can make payment at thousands of InterSwitch ATMs around Nigeria.

@workingirl

I guess most Nigerian webmasters are not able to afford paying the setup fee of the following payment processors: interswitch/etransact/vpay in order to receive the API script installed on their secured website allowing users to charge their credit cards payment directly.

Very few of those webmasters has no problem obtaining their own payment processing to be employed credit card transaction resulted on their website.

That option (to send money online) only applies to Interswitch Cashcard users. If you have a Cashcard, you can pay online. However, a majority of the Interswitch cards in circulation are Debit cards tied to the respective bank accounts of users; and they do not function like Cashcard. Holders of this conventional debit cards have to visit an ATM machine to transfer funds.

@workingirl

You asked me whether this site you mentioned above is fraud or not! According to the Interswitch site on the CashCard section and i clicked and saw the legal site address: www.mynigeriacashcard.com there. It said as follow below:

CashCard can be presently obtained from selected member banks on the InterSwitch network. Also, private organisations such as Globacom, MTN, FCTA have partnered with InterSwitch to issue their own brand of CashCards.

As a result, please use a real legal CashCard site address I provided above.

Obviously there’s no difference between https://www.mynigeriacashcard.com/Content/usingcashcard.aspx? And www.mynigeriacashcard.com. By looking at the root address, you’ll see that the two addresses are from the same domain. And as you can see, the first link has Secure Socket Layer (ssl) showing that is a secure site.
