The simple answer to this is yes. If a woman has a short cycle -- typically 21 days from first day to first day -- then she is actually ovulating on day seven of her cycle (the seventh day from the first day of her period). Because some periods last that long, it is possible that a menses may be just ending when she is ovulating.

hi about your question yes a girl can get pregnant even when she is on her period. its all about biology. in the uterus eggs from the ovary are deposited twhere they can be fertilized by the sperm. some girls tend to lay more than one egg at a time living the possibility of it getting fertilized by sperm. if you must have sex use a condom or make her take birth control pills. need more advice email me at vivada@fastermail.com

 No she would not be pregnant. usually ovulation period start 3 days folowing menstruation.so if u are using de natural method of family planing u start abstaning imediatly after mentruation till de next 10 to 14 days. if anything must be done a condom should be used, this is b/c medical sceinces ve not been able to tel us de real day ovulation would occur, but predict from de 3rd day to de 7th day. so to be on de safe side add more 4 to 7 days to de original 7 days post mentration. This is also b/c the sperm ve a live span of about 3days. conclusively, abstain or use a condom from de last day of menstruation till de next 12 to 14 days, theraftar resume unterrupted sexual intercours till de last day of the next menstrua circle.

Honestly there is no way a lady can get pregnant during her period. The simple reason is there are no eggs to be fertilized by his sperm. The sperm can only last for about four days in her system and are destroyed.

By the time  the sperms are destroyed, her eggs are just beginning to form(that is if he slept with her on the last day of her period). And as such it is not possible for fertilization to take place.

So if she comes tomorrow and says she is pregnant as a result of that particular union,tell your friend to tell her it is a bloody LIE.

And what of if she has sex d day before her period is she also pregnant? (As in she saw her last period on the 2nd of last month july  then she had sex and the period shifted back to 28th july but she had sex on the 27th july is that kind of lady pregnant? Doctors in the house,

I am really surprised some ladies in the house don't know much about their bodies . For them to say they can get pregnant during menstruation is simply disappointing! So you mean to tell me that as the body is tearing down the womb's wall, it is rebuilding it and releasing egg simultaniously?
