H E L L O H O U S E ! Could someone kindly help a starter web programer (myself) with a sure link to download the PHP program and a tutorial on how to configure it using my hard disk as a local server, as well as a free version of mysql suitable for a starter.
Secondly what's the difference between mysql developer studio and the mysql program (or compiler- i dont know what to call it) itself.
thanks, I'm sure you guys will be useful.

Really I've tried those sites, but I'm confused a bit about what exactly I need to download for PHP there seems to be so many other related files and i've also not been able to get free versions from mysql.com

okay to make your life easier i have zipped all the stuff i mentioned
http://mistiecloud.ath.cx/test
download the WAMP.ZIP file
it contains apache2, mysql application 4.1, mysql query browser, mysql administration, php4.3.11 (binary)
the binary php file is easier to configure than an exe php installer
i am aware that php5 and mysql5 are out but i prefer to use the most stable version,
whenever you've being successful at downloading post a reply bonne chance

This might be highly useful to you, so you just might wish to download it. It's stuffed with PHP 5, MySQL 5, Perl 5, Apache 2, Tomcat 5, including phpMyAdmin 2 (the highly intuitive software for creating MySQL databases on the fly!). I know you said PHP and MySQL, but just give it a shot. I've been recommending this link to anyone who's interested in any web server tool. http://www.devside.net/web/server/free/suiteBe sure to check it.
