@ jarsofclay, lol, what about the "i want to stay outside school because there are thieves and whatnots" story? your eye don clear, abi? anyways, you are doing only one CSC this session. my advice? read your bloody note, follow what the bloody lecturer says and does, not your bloody initiative and basically do GIGO (go ask other stalites what that means). . . . oh, and pray your lecturer ain't ABC Robert. dude ripped my set's anus wide open. imagine learning how to write in VB.Net. . . . . in french! ROFLMAO, that class was a joke in Chinese i can give other past questions for other courses especially that imbecile maths. PS: you on YIm, right?

Please can anyone help me find out if University of Ibadan will be admitting students for undergraduates courses through the Ume next year (2009) or is the school totally becoming a post-graduate school (as from next year)? Please nairalanders I need a concrete and substantial reply so as not to take the wrong step. Thanks in anticipation of your responses. Please I really need your responses urgently because I learnt that the UME 2009 forms are out already.

I don't think it is ever possible for a school like UI to decide to admit only postgraduates alone, Surely they'l admit student for the next session. But mind u my advice for u is not to rush into getting your jamb form and summiting this early. Wait till 2009 earlyfebruary when all rumors would av been made official (thats if its true)

Thanks nairalanders. Pls I would also like to know what the UI post-ume was like this year.I learnt that in previous years it used to be more like defending one's O'level results.

@wordsmith I've been away for sometime (in nairaland i mean)so i didn't see your post early enough to reply. I was at the Nacoss Orientation and I think that helped me a lot, atleast i got motivated to start studying as early as possible. I tried attending CSC tutorials, i think it's your set guys that are coaching us? @GodisKing The Post ume for this year(2008/2009) differed from department to department, some were tested on the basics of their courses, some were asked very tough questions in the sciences and if you are lucky enough you may just escaped without being asked any complicated core subject. All the same, make sure you have a very good O'level, sound Jamb Score and know enough about what you have been taught in High School, then you are a bit close to being offered admission in U.I?

How come we U.I freshmen on nairaland haven't met?, I was just thinking out loud there

I think it's b'cos everyone's still very busy:trying to meet up with course registration signing, library, and then assignments, tutorials and up-coming tests, moreover no nairaland fresher would be seen with their user name boldly written on the back I don't think anyone would be interested in such, but hey, what's your deparment?

Agricultural Engineering. It's obvious you are in Computer Science, I kind of know one 100L girl in your department and it's definitely not you, only if your name is Mabel. Anyhowz sha, I just thought it would be really cool if we met. But I get, everyone's really busy.

@Jarsofclay Thanks for the info, was the post-ume exam an oral test or a written test. Please do you know if University of Ibadan will be admitting students for undergraduates courses through the Ume next year (2009) or is the school totally becoming a post-graduate school (as from next year)? @ Phemour I think your sgnature should have read "o ba adiye sun, adiye loyun, adiye bimo," and not "oba adire sun". @ rock 101 You may have come across some, unknown to you. By the way, what do you mean by "freshmen"? What about "freshwomen" straight from the cooler? Besides, even though I was admitted this year, I'm a stalite already. Just joking. @ Jarsy You bet I'm interested in writing my username on my Barcelona FC jersey when I get one, just look out! @ Godisking I like your user name. To your questions: 1. The post-ume exam is an oral test, call it an interview. 2. As for the 2009 undergraduate admissions, if that is not going to be JAMB would state that in the opening part of the brochure and you can also see it on the e-registration portal, the top of the homepage. And as someone advised, you may want to wait till around February next year before purchasing your form since I heard the exam is in April, by that time, you'd have access to enough information. Good luck!

@ Princesa and Godisking The questions asked were just the basics of your proposed course of study, intended to test if the candidates sat for their WAEC and JAMB examinations by themselves. Let me give you mine as an example, I’m in the Economics Department. The following were some of the questions I was asked: 1. With my results in front of them, I was asked my name, secondary school attended, grades obtained in the WAEC certificate submitted etc. Then I was asked 2. What is average cost? How is it calculated? (goofed a little here). 3. What is Pythagoras theorem? 4. What is a score? 5. What is a gross? 6. 1 over x equals? And about 2 other questions. I think from these you should have an idea of what to expect. As basic as the questions were, some didn’t make it. I’m grateful that I’m among the choosen.

Hi, Opos! With such a score I think you have a good chance provided your O'level is great. Look through this thread to find how O'level are graded and compare to the 5 relevant O'level subjects.

It depends on the department, really. But I think you stand a chance if start preparing for the interview from now. And don't forget to pray to God about it, most importantly.
