Very good comparison because they produce in the same genre. It is really difficult. I prefer kelly clarkson esp when it comes to vocals, and behavior. Ashlee is pretty kool too, and her music is good, but ever since her lip synching on SNL, i'm not so sure about her. And she hasn't totally redeemed herself even with her boyfriend video. overall, i go with Kelly Clarkson, she got it all, the grammys etc. she's the bomb.
