Sony Ericsson P1
« on: June 11, 2008, 04:47 AM »

I want to but a Sony Ericsson P1i
Those that know about the phone should please talk to me. I also want to know the limitations, the features that the phone is lacking. I have already visited this site to get the specifications: http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_p1-1982.php
but that not withstanding there may still be other good features which the phone is lacking, which i wouldn't know.

With Wi-Fi does that mean i can connect to the internet wirelessly where there is a wireless network, just like a wireless laptop?
It says it has photocall. Is it any different from front facing camera?
Advance thanks

@poster, if you are going to use the P1i as your main phone for all your phone calls, it is definitely not very convenient as it has no soft keys or navi keys and the touch interface is not optimized for finger touch so you have to dig out the stylus all the time. The p1i is a phone for tech junkies so think hard before u buy it so that you don't get frustrated with the features later.

There are no hardware keys for receiving calls on the phone, except the 3-way volume key on the side. The qwerty keys are not easy to get used to either. You might be better off with a P990 or G900/G700 if you want something really good for frequent phone

Smartkid i think you should try drogba's suggestion. I think G900 or G700 will suit you better since you're after a wifi phone for everyday use. The P1 is a very nice phone, its a good business phone with great music functions.

Well i bought P1i about 2 weeks ago. The screen is optimized for finger, and you can easily navigate, select and go back using the side keys. In fact you can do anything with the phone without even touching the screen if you so wish. And i really love the phone Kiss Grin Kiss

Who says u can't pick up your calls from the keypads? When next you have got a call, just press the y (or the 2) key and you are connected.

I won't say much here.

SE P1i is amongst the first generation High End SE phones.

It is classy, good for business, adorable for entertainment, and not too complex for anyone interested twist and tweaks.

NOTE

How adventurous are you when it come to using handheld devices?

What are the features you would want your choice of phone to have and will you be able get the resources to utilize the features?

Enlist the possible choice and choose which one soothes you best.

Some Users have WiFi, 3G, Dual SIM, Bluetooth phones but they never attempted, may never, does not know how to (use it).

____________________________________________________________ ____________

I gave this questions to a friend of mine who planned to buy a phone with the intention of buying a high end phone.

After answering the questions without fooling himself he realised that if he had bought a highend it would have been useless and at the end of the day he bought K750i.
____________________________________________________________ _____________________________

Most people can afford the most expensive phones but only few utilise the features.

You may not believe this but I have seen a man who uses 3 Nokia E91's. But all he does with the phones is just make calls and show off.

Techservy's uses devices that will equate with his/her budget and will be upgradable but not just buy any product  for the sake of buying or recognition.
____________________________________________________________ ___________________________

You can get a phone which is not as expensive as Blackberry, or any other high end products but if you know the right applications to use you will not miss using the high end one bit.

e.g

People buy Blackberry mostly because of mail synchronisations but you can also get a phone as low as K310, Z600 with FLURRY or any other application for synching mails.

There are lots of lite applications online to serve the purpose which other High-End phone provide.

ALL IN ALL Sony Ericsson P1i is a good phone.

I have the P1i & can confirm that it's not too convenient for everyday use as a normal phone for a heavy caller.
It's very slow to boot up.
No navi keys.
Call/End keys are missing.
QWERTY keypad is pathetic.

Can you believe some people even mistake it for a China phone at times? Definitely not a common phone,

« #14 on: July 09, 2008, 01:48 AM »

DROGBA, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
I NEED THE NEW MTN APN LINK FOR THE FREE BROWSING.
I DEPEND ALOT ON MTN NETWORK SO, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEAL OF OTHER NETWORK.
I PROMISE THAT I WILL NOT GIVE TO ANY OTHER PERSON. YOU MAY HELP ME BY SENDING THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO CONFIGURE THE MTN LINE TO BROWSE WITH PC FREE.
(ayoola4u2005@yahoo.com)
PLEASE I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. AM UNABLE TO BROWSE SINCE THE TIME THAT THEY HAVE BLOCKED THE LINK THAT WE ARE USING.

DROGBA, I WANT TO MAKE THIS SURGESTION.
I SURGEST THAT ANY ONE THAT HAVE ONE OR TWO INFORMATION ON NEW LINK FOR FREE BROWSING, THE LINK SHOULD BE SEND DIRECTLY INTO THERE MAIL BOX.
I SURGEST THESE BECAUSE, AM ABLE TO GET THIS WEBSITE THROUGH GOOGLE SEARCH, AND IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ANY MTN AGENT TO GET INFORMATION ON THE NEW LINK THAT WILL MIGHT HAVE DISCURSE.
THEREFORE, ANY ONE THAT REQUESTED FOR NEW LINK, THE LINK INFORMATION SHOULD BE SEND TO THE PERSON MAIL BOX FOR SECURITY PURPOSE.
THANK.
