Dates are entirely man made. They are units of a calendar, which is also entrely man-made. Lets not forget that "dates" are not the same as "days". Nothing says the moon/lunar cycle has to define a month. Nothing says the single revolution of the earth around the sun has to define a year. And what about that contraption of a leap year, created because you can't have a 365 1/4 days in a "year". Who says every single sunrise/sunset can't be a year.
