Artwork Wanted: Oil Painting On Canvas
« on: June 01, 2006, 02:57 PM »

Previously posted in the Adverts section.

I've  just had an request for large format paintings on canvas, if you know of any budding artist who can paint to order please ask him/her to contact me.

Basically, unframed oil painting on canvas is the preferred item; abstract in style and MUST be large format about the size of A1 which is around 4 x A3 or 8  x A4 or A0 which is twice the size of A1.

Prices are negotiable.

Terms: can be negotiated directly but only for finished artwork, advance may be considered but only on proof of sketches and references.

r u still looking for a large painting.
then i may just have one for you. Its a 1993 political painting of Nigeria tribal differences.
It was painted at the height of the IBB/ June 12 annulment & the about to be formulated interim government which was to be headed by shonekan or Obasanjo.
Later Shonekan resigned or was pushed aside by Abacha and Abiola died in detention whilst trying to realize his mandate. He however died on the eve of his soon-release!

Its a traditional & political art collection.

Another title for it then was "Yoruba ronu". because the irony of it all was that all three were Egba men.

What I don't understand is why a photorealistic oil painting is somehow more artistic than a digital photo. Lips sealed

I admire works of art but still can't understand human judgment in spending millions of dollars on Davinci, Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso etc, while millions of humans are starving.

Money spent doesn't affect the starving humans.  The artists who get the millions can equaly spend them on the starving humans.  The only thing that affects starving humans is the availability of food.  Everything else is neutral to it.

@Tuphyne,

I started this thread to find artist(s) who are willing to create oil based abstract commissions on canvas.  if this is you please contact me directly.

@VitualCom,

Thanks but, I'm currently looking for abstract not realism works.  Out of interest what are the dimensions of your painting?
