If you have a Pretty daughter announce her to the world, CU is Gr8
as for me my child will be there to bag his 1st Class too.
For the critics of this outstanding performance, send your children to government schools then they will be back home after spending 8/7 years for a 4-year course and eventually get 3D-Class.
OK!
There is nothing wrong in sending your son anywhere you want and if you decide he must go to CU then good luck but for you to curse the children of those who choose to do otherwise with an overstretched duration of 7/8 years in the university coupled with a 3rd class degree says a lot about the kind of person you are, how could you say such a thing, people like you will step on peoples head to get what they want. It is obvious a lot of people do not pray for an improvement in our educational system for their own selfish reasons. No one is stopping you from being rich but you dont need to curse the poor.

Federal schools are good equally.Lets talk facts. Of course there is no denying the fact that Federal Universities are good, but I will not say equally (except in the quality of Lecturers the federal Universities have.) I went to one and most people I know who went to such are doing fine. We did strive to succeed in the situation we found ourselves and it was not fun. Our Federal Universities could do with being more comfortable and not let students spend their time thinking of getting the right accommodation, good place to eat, convenient place for reading and overall stability leading to graduation. Whereas most students spent their time determining where the next meal was going to come from or how to buy that Handout or textbook that the Lecturer prepared and which formed part of your assessment! All these issues are the effects of the prevalent mismanagement of Resources in the Nation. There is absolutely nothing like a Student starting a course in a University and knowing your exact date of graduation! How many people in our various universities have ever had that "Luxury" of knowing this?

which kind of ignorant people are these posting negative things about the school, lets get things straight, would you as an individual send your child to a school where he/she will spend 7 years instead of the normal 4 years? im a proud hebronite currently doing my youth service and from what i have seen so far, the public universities only end up churning out uncles and aunties should have started raising kids long ago who dont realise that age is catching up on them fast.

I Never mean any harm ! I'm not at all cursing any1 ! 4 what ? I don't need / have to ride on others to get to where am going all i need is PLAN.
Events have shown that Nigerian leaders has not us in mind not to talk of our children education.
Health sector 4 instance; they shared the supposed 'left-over' when in the real sense all federal medical facilities are in a state of mess. That's why dey fly abroad to traet themselves.
Which of these leaders have manifesto with Education taking highest priority?
In that case PLAN 4 urself since they have no plan 4 no one.
Have very few children (1 or MAX of 2) depending on the value u want for them.
Personaly;Am investing half my income for the past 5yrs and the next 5yrs in shares for my only baby. I think by then , I may not need to borrow money to send her to 1 of these good private UNIV.
It's by choice !!!

The multiplication factor is a huge non-sense. UI also does this thing and I wonder if it really counts in the labour market. If the students really deserve it, give it to them. They should just be made to defend it.
The labour market in Nigeria today is mainly about connection. That's the trend. Graduates of IMT, Enugu, working in big firms do help their alumni. Some people got employed just because they are old boys/girls of some particular secondary schools e.g Kings' college, Christ School, Ado and others.

, and who says public universities are not involved in grade racketeering?
Even at the almighty UI, students influence their results. There was a particular case of a guy who failed Chemistry 157 before the results were released; he bought his way through and got 62% when the result was released. There was a time final year students of Geology dept petitioned the uni senate, over some black market deals, against their HOD. In the long run, the students were made to appologise to the HOD, scrubbing the floor with their mouths when they were almost made to repeat the session.
The stress public schools make their students go through is unnecessary. Subjecting students to the worst condition makes the students seek illegitimate means of making it to the top.
If CU provided the requisite academic environment, teaching skills, materials, up-to-date information as opposed to 19th century stuffs public schools still reel out to their students, then churning out 20 1st class guys wouldnt be much of a surprise!

Pls if u love Nigeria than stop saying negative things about the 1st class from CU. This is the problem most Nigerians have.Start appreciating your own. I experienced the CU degree last year and am now serving in Nasarawa State. i hate it when people think Negative always.Take your child to Government schools then.

Ignorance is a fast killer i believe, why will someone talk about the price of an item instead of the VALUE.Please you guys dont know much about Covenant University.Come and receive lectures from people like us cos we where there and we saw the way things went. You pay much for a valuable item.If government university pays that much tell me will you want to be admitted there? I guess your answer is NO.In Covenant University you pay more and you read so that your results will be great and not because you pay more you get very good grade without reading, you will be asked to redraw if you are not in Good Standing. So its not about the money its about you been dedicated to your course of study.WARNING,WARNING WARNING, dont say what you dont know please.Thank you

na here una still dey ? how many of the so-called 20 1st class candidates passed WAEC or NECO with at least 6 distinctions and above ? yeye ! when u have children paid so much for, then as a parent u should expect more from the school and the kids BUT THEN ! the schitzo is THE OUTSIDE WORLD AND HOW your KIDS FARE !Life is not about being a 1st class graduate . . .even day to day idiots cop 1st class these days so what are we talking about here ? all or most of these private unis just don't prepare their garduates for the real challenges of life, thats my main grouse . . . AM SURE SOME OF THESE 1ST CLASS GRADUATES CANT WRITE AN ESSAY ABOUT THEMSELVES TO SAVE THEIR LIFES ! but yet that is not to say some don't deserve the degrees . . .I even praise their lectuters for being magnanimous, HOW MANY OF 'EM LECTURERS COPPED 1ST CLASS ? well who cares ? ITS NOT ABOUT your APTITUDE, ITS ABOUT your ATTITUDE ! How does the usual suffering/challenges students face in a Federal or State university prepare them for the challenges in Zenith bank, BAT, Exxonmobil, Unilever or PWC (e.t.c.)? How are Graduates in European and American Universities able to work successfully in Major companies in their countries without going through the kind of challenges some of us went through in Universities in Nigeria? Bottomline is I don't believe that you must suffer in school to be able to face challenges in the workplace. We are even getting to the point where we consider the abnormal as normal in Nigeria . Most of the graduates in Private universities are not from wealthy homes as people perceive. Their parents have decided to sacrifice to ensure that their children went to these schools. I know several of such parents. Are all the graduates of these schools not working in the same offices as some of you are or leaving for schools overseas for their masters? In the Long run, how much do some people spend even to get accommodation in other non private universities in a year? Tiny bedspaces and corners go for multiples of tens of thousands of Naira in one year in some of these schools and what does all the various expenses students incur add up to in a year? Of course now that you are enjoying the big bucks in the workplace, you have forgotten all the challenges of even registering on the first day you stepped into school.

Come slap us because we talk now. CU graduates are not super-humans. We are all still Nigerian graduates.
All graduates should be tested on their personal abilities and not on the name of their schools. finish.
@moyinmc Wait till other graduates start cursing you before you know say you don mis-yarn. What's our business if you've got money to send your daughter to CU. You come to run your mouth on nairaland just because you have a few millions. Tables do turn and tables will turn madam. Even people wey get heavy dough no dey make noise, na small millionnaires like una dey make noise. If you've got a serious attitude problem like this, i wonder how that your daughter would behave.

agree with this sentence,I am tested based on my capabilities at work not based on the school i went to. i don't believe suffering would prepare u for the real world as much as it probably would make one dogged and determined to succeed, it shouldnt be a reason to attack those that never went through it

any serious student who can pass JAMB would never attend a private university. those who support them should make their next medical appointments with private university trained doctors. see you at the mortuary if you choose this option. gbam. What's the entire beef about? I really don't understand why it's so hard to accept that we Nigerians can actually come out with anything good talk less of excellent. I'm a proud student of Covenant University and I had an excellent JAMB result but I still chose to go there of my own free will after weighing all other possible options, and trust me I'm not the least bit disappointed in my decision. I can proudly say I'm the better for it and I'd rather be no where else. , and just hang on in the next couple of years the world will be screaming our name for all things positive and you'll be on the queue trying to book an appointment with a Covenant University trained doctor. Mark my words and commit them to memory.

There is no denying the fact that students of Fed and State Unis are more rugged judging by what they experienced. But we do not need such ruggedness to survive in a normal society. When I said people that studied in Europe and america and who had it good in school are working in good Companies, I wasn't refering to Nigerians and not companies in Nigeria. just reminding you that these students did not suffer in school, yet their output at work is good and their economies are doing fine. And to the point where you meant that Peeps from foreign universities have issues when they get back to Nigeria, yes they ought to. Afterall, the peeps are coming from a society where there are some differences in how work is approached and completed, so why won't they have issues initially. It will take a very tolerant person coming from overseas to overlook some of our natural attitude to work.

Congratulations to all graduates. I'm a product of a private university and I know it's not 'beans' to get grades, but I have come to realise that most people who criticize (destructively) don't know nothing, maybe is just envy. They say a 2.1 in a public university would 'dust' any 1st class from a private university; big lie. I work in a world class organisation and management knows the stuff like minds (private university grads) are made up of. Do your homework before posting junk it earns you respect.
