The current state of NUT is producing a glooming future for this year's Neco exam.
As far as NUT does not recover from all these shocks, then the exam cannot commence, which will thereafter generate into mass failure even after when the exam had been conducted.

The National Examination Council (NECO) has fixed August 20 as the new date for the resumption of its June/July Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The examination was suspended as a result of the nationwide strike embarked upon by the National Union of Teachers.
Announcing the new date at a press briefing in Minna yesterday, the NECO Registrar , Professor Promise Okpara said that the environment was now conducive for the conduct of the examination, adding that the council was prepared to conduct smooth conduct of the examination and the early release of the results in the interest of the Nigerian children.
"We would ensure that we work hard to release the result within 60 days as against the 90 days we are used to. We are therefore appealing to the candidates to get prepared for the examination", he said.
He said that the examinations conducted in some subjects before the teachers’ strike were still valid and advised all principals of schools toassist the council in communicating the new date to the candidates.
Advising the principals to download the new time table for the examination, the Registrar insisted that the council will not tolerate any form of examination malpractices adding that schools and candidates caught in such acts would be made to face the wrath of the law.
"We have always declared zero tolerance for examination malpractices and we are advising candidates to read well and be prepared for the examination in their own interest because cheating will not be condoned", he said.
Professor Okpala said that called on all stakeholders to join hands with the council in ensuring the successful conduct of the examination, adding that the council was committed towards conducting credible examination.
He said that the council was still computing the losses incurred as a result of the disruption of the examination about two months ago, adding that the council would adequately mobilize its staff to monitor and supervise the conduct of the examination.
