Nba Finals: Boston Celtics Champions.
« on: June 18, 2008, 05:10 AM »

I can't even express my joy enough.I'm so so happy. The greatest basketball team,Celtics, once again lifted the NBA title after 17 years. No one gave us a chance against the Lakers but the final score;131-92 says it all(Lakers were humiliated).

To crown it all ma man Paul Pierce won the MVP for the finals. Ray Allen tied the record with 7 three pointers in a game.

Much Love to Doc Rivers. You made millions of people happy tonight.

Thanks for the correction; It's the 17th title after 22yrs. I guess Corona has already started its effects.

what a horrible game 6, i expected the Lakers to show up especially kobe (way to go with the MJ comparisons) but they didn't what a shame, that i wasted an hour of my life watching such a boring game, a good hour i would never get back. By the way, did anybody notice David Stern, NBA commissioner being booed before the commemoration ceremony? OUCH!!!

boring ke? for who?  Cheesy me I enjoyed every single second of the humiliation we dished out. I usually feel for the losing team but after the way they've whined and complained all series long I have no sympathy for them at all. Since they said we could not do it without the refs, we went out and proved them wrong - to the tune of a 39 point beatdown!  Grin

Yeah Stern is not really a beloved guy in the NBA. But I was suprised they booed him so much. I think they just wanted to get on with it and hear from their champs! The party is on in Beantown!  Grin  I'm planning on going to the parade 2moro, anybody else going?

Dont be myopic no team would have survived the Celtics i saw last night.K.G,Ray Allen and Paul Pierce cmon one man can only do so much why don't you blame his team-mates too for not playing any D

yeah I agree. All series long as soon as kobe put the ball on the floor to go inside, the defense collapsed on him forcing him to kick it out to a teammate or retreat behind the 3-pt line. The loss is not solely on his platethough I think the LA times headline read "MVP or MIA?" - ouch!
Though all series kobe was less than below what we all know he can do, Boston's defense is the main culprit and the lakers lack of it and gasol's softness, odom's inconsistency, raddy's air balls

@Je-soul
Yeah Kobe definitely doesnt like being hassled the way the Celts did i remember telling one NBA neophyte on Nairaland that Kobe needed to work on his J as the Celts wouldnt let him go Sportscenter on them.Gasol and Odom combined where poor zero D and their offence was more erratic than Nigeria's power supply as for Radmanovic he shot so many bricks that he would be able to rebuild the World Trade in minutes it was ridiculous even my Grandma in her 70's would not have shot so bad

THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME. IN 2004, CHOKIE CRYANT HAD ONE OF THE WORST FINAL PERFORMANCES IN NBA HISTORY, DESPITE PLAYING WITH 3 FUTURE HOFERS. HE SHOT A WHOPPING 38% THAT SERIES.

Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers, 2004
Lakers vs. Pistons -- Bryant's PER 14.2
With his feud against Shaq escalating and the series getting away from the Lakers, Bryant began taking whatever shot struck him. Mostly, they struck the rim -- he shot 38.1 percent and had nearly as many turnovers (18) as assists (22) as Detroit romped in five games.

I got scared at the beginning of the first quarter when Kobe made those three straight three-pointers.Just couldn't believe they did not capitalize on that impetus.
The Celtics team I saw yesterday could conquer any team in the world; all played well, from House to Davis and the big three. For me Rondo was the most improved; small but lethal.
As for David Stern,he deserves much more than he got.

You are a Kobe hater he was still their best player in the series and he was up against Paul Pierce,K.G and Ray Allen tell me which Laker player stepped up to the plate how many of them upped the ante when the chips where down looking at the 06 finals against Dallas some people give Dwyane Wade all the credit for their win but they overlooked a certain Alonzo Mourning who was on fire in games 5 and 6 with some amazing blocks and marquee defending.
On the 04 series please tell me who didnt suck?Shaq was poor and so was Malone so why blame just Kobe?

EXCUSES ARE ALL THE KOBE KIDS HAVE

Their hero, the fraud Kobe Bryant, lets them down at every turn.  I would be bitter too if I had just found out Santa wasn't real.

The Lakers got murdered by the Celtics. Period.

After the game it was funny to see Kobe pushing through the crowd to run away to the locker room.

how so? Everyone knows defense wins championships and the lakers played none, they deserved exactly what they got - a loss.

LOL. . . no one on the lakers team stepped up, there's plenty of blame to go round. However people are downing kobe because everyone expected him to take over, and he played average at best, plus especially with all the MJ comparisons.

Did anyone hear Shaq's freestyle dissing Kobe:
"Last week,Kobe couldn't do it without me", "Kobe how did my ass taste".

Meanwhile,Kobe can never ever compare with MJ. He hasn't got what it takes on and off the court. Grin

That rap was funny! Cheesy  lol. . . to me it did not seem meanspirited, the art of freestyle requires you to diss your competitor though at the same time, I believe there's some lingering dislike between the 2 of them.
"you know how I be, last week Kobe couldn't do without me" - funny  Cheesy

Kobe aint no MJ thats for sure no one is comparing anyone to The Legend His Royal Airness but the Celtics where simply the best team in the season they where totally dominant even completing the dreaded Texas triangle and sincerely tell me who was as complete as the Celts? when you have K.G Ray Allen and Paul Pierce in a team come on one man can only do so much

Shaq is just trying to be funny since no one is talking about him wasnt he there when the Pistons whooped their ass in 04? How did he help the Suns cause this season? would he have won his 4th ring without D.Wade?
