Manuals still exist as before.

But, Americans are lazy drivers, and prefer self-shifters.
By default, American / US-spec cars are built as automatics, with manuals as an extra cost option.
It's the reverse in the UK.

Considering most cars imported to Nigeria are from the United States, it stands to reason most will be automatics.

NKC,  by logic u r correct - but I am sure u know d reason why auto is the prefered option here in naija- especially Lagos/ PH . ,  Bad roads,  traffic Jams,  etc. moreso come to think of it,  I don't think driving should add stress to your life,  If u ve been driving manual in Lagos and later changed to auto,  I tell u ,  u might blame yourself why all the punishment ever since Grin Grin

I just purchased a manual transmission vehicle, taking delivery tomorrow! Most of my friends and even de car dealer couldn't understand why. I just love the burst i get when I downshift, and I love being in direct control of de power my engine gives.
