I just think that, every tribe has a flaw(maybe not a flaw considering english isn't our language) but something different
The yoruba's and that "h" effect kills me.putting it where it does not belong and where it belongs,they take it out.

Is the Nigerian accent sexy? IMHO, the Nigerian accent is far from being sexy. It's doubtful that i'll be polishing the radishes of a Nigerian broad by virtue of her accent!

I think in america , thick nigerian accent is not sexy o, if you have thick nigerian accent, many folks including africans can be looking down on the person. In america , many africans are making their voice lighter or taking ESL to help them accent wise. . I think it is good to work on pronounciation in america, just so as to be clearly understood. I think the most beautiful african accents are those who do not learn ghetto english. I see some africans speaking ghetto, sorry to say, it doesn't sound right to me, it is better to learn the standard american english, even if you may not be speaking perfect americana ,if you put a little effort, you would sound very beautiful. an esl teacher once said thAT THE nigerian accent is charming.if you work a little on speaking light, good pronounciation , i think you should be fine.

Well, I only got to europe three years ago. I use to live in Germany but later we moved to Uk. I wasn't the kind of girl that speaks proper yoruba english when I was at home( If u know wht I mean). You can say I was one of the ajebuta kids. When I got to Uk, I couldn't understand a thing they were saying, and it was really hilarious at first. Thats not exactly ma point though. I'm in Uk, but I speak American english, and sometimes you can make out ma accent. All of ma taechers love it when I speak, and they ask me to say things all over again. At first, I thought they were being sarcastic, but at the end of it all, I knew they meant it, and they all go.......Ask her to speak. Her accent is so cute. Its american mixed with nigerian english. HAhA  . |

combined with my deep baritone you should hear me speak You know I even have wan phone that I use to make it sweeter and I am a yoruba man..not d 'enry it the 'ammer on the 'ead guy. I mean guys ask me where are you from I reply nigeria and they say bro you don't have a nigerian accent. not finished I was buying a book sometime ago and the bookseller who is a lecturer of english said I was very articulate..so you can imagine I make my girlfriends dreams come true especially when I'm reading her a poem.thanks for reading my ego inflating talk. Nigerian accent is alright...but I can't say it's sexy...because there's nothing sexy about the nigerian accent or any other accents for that matter...you can use the word "Posh" not "sexy" no accent is "sexy".
I love the british accent,but not as much as I do the american accent...Gosh! it's so "posh"love it!

nigerian accent is ok.. but not the nigerian accent that i hear over here( america). especially those that has been here for like a year.. they be trying so hard to speak american english.. but anywho i LOVEEEEEEEEEE me some british accent.. they are so sexxxxxxxxxy.. i guess thats why all these nigerians actors and actresses tries to copy it( which gets on my nerves if i mite say)

man igbo accent does it for me but not the a rolly is clossing the load. lol thatz ma mums side accent but my dads side igbo accent is great man da lanugaue n shit. they r da bomb but i only like when a yoruba man who can speak english properly u kno they still have the accent but when their voice is deep u feel like mmmm, want to go to my room. ok ok what am i on about back from fantasy island. oh my God joygasm.

nigerian accent is great in the uk. i kno some pplz with nigerian accent in london and they don't get teased but if u come with an american accent to london especially in da endz/ghetto u will get murked/laughed at/beaten up. so i say where am at id rather have a nigerian accent that an american accent. they hate americans so much. i think nigerian accent is great i feel lonely sometimes not havin anyone speakin it to me. and nigerian english/queens english. I think it really depends on the guy himself, not on his accent. If he radiates confidence and caring, that matters more than his accent.
If I hear a Nigerian accent, I think "Wow, I'm interested in finding out more about this guy!" Then if he's really attractive as a person, I would say yes to a date, and get to know him better. But if he's not a nice guy, then not even the Nigerian accent would make any difference.

hey, y'all! this is my first post. i don't really like some nigerian accents. when i went to nigeria some people try to fake their accents when they were talking to me. n-e-wayz, it ain't too bad. my accent is an eastcoast accent: a mixture of brooklin and d.c./ maryland.

It depends on who you ask. I have a few American friends who think my accent is sexy as hell! I don't try to mask it (well only at job interviews, you know ) but them girls love it! Most naijas tend to hate their own voice and try to form. As for me, i am who i am. What are you? |

i love the nigerian accent. but i think it sounds best in africa & europe. for whatever reason, in the u.s people can't help but pick up a little american twang/accent & it kind of ruins it.
but when i talk on the phone to my aunts/uncles/cousins i always wish i had their voices & pronunciations. i love accents in general though.
