awwww, so sorry dear @rikkyjen , well it is thick but depends on individuals and tribe in most cases, i know mine is very light because everyone sayz i sound like a baby  , ma accent is mixed sha but coming 2 your own case, don't mind those people, u know sum people can be ignorant, they would hear but will pretend as if they didn't. I had a friend of mine who came one day complaning 2 me that people tells her she gat an accent, am like " that shouldn't bother u because everyone gat an accent", itz so 4nny when u hear people trying to get da accent of da country they r in and they r fully trying so had, itz sooo hilarious, if u speak normal, da accent comes when it comes PERIOD |

My boyfriend is Nigerian, he's been in the US. for less than a year and I love to hear him talk. When we first talked I had trouble understanding some of his words because of the accent but now I catch it all. I just love the way he says certain words, I think it's adorable. He's Yoruba and he went to school in Nigeria up through college if that makes any sort of difference as to what his accent would sound like.

hmmm kool, i think 9erian accent sounds good when they don't fake it in between, just let it flow, i can remember ma lst visit to Nigeria in 2004 and hmmmmmm people were forming and faked their accent 4 me and in da process, instead of me 2 understand them, i couldn't and i just laugh esp. when i laugh alot, as i said before, i speak normal because accent ain't a big thing, i have a light voice that people tells me i sound like a child, just let it flow people and people would understand u. da accent comes naturally

well i'm not nigerian but sometimes some Nigerians drive me crazy well not crazy in the sense but y'all know what i mean. i have this my friend cute, foine 36,30,34 but sha her accent di drive boys away like wahala. n the problem is she's trying to hard to talk like americans. she pronounces thirty as THATTY well i really don't care because she's my friend but boys also do like "what she say?" n she gets mad all the time!!!!!!!! but as for me i can fake my accent real bad!!!!!!! i have a fake british accent and a fake french accent these two are my signatures when i'm flirting with a boy. it makes them go ga---ga  i love love love Bimbo Akintola's accent!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Nigerian accent is neither sexy nor cool, it is just an accent. if you speak any other language(s) it is bound to reflex in the way you speak English. For those that think Nigerian accent is thick or irritating wait till you hear people from the North of England spk, boy, funny . The problem i have is when people try put up a false accent(I mean bad fake), like most of my friends in the States try to do. I love Koffi Anann's accent, he is Ghana but pronounces his words well(essential tool for communication). The best fussion of accents, in my oppinion is Nigerian accent mixed with Proper Queens English e.g Olu jacobs's,Wole Soyinka's. I have never met anyone without an accent when speaking English, The frenchs have a frenchy accent, so does the Spanish, German, Japaness, Indian. |

These scouse people are just in love with ma thick yoruba accent eventhough they struggle to hear what i say .
They all say they like the way my language flows when speaking english with ma Egba accent.
But i'm always a villian outside liverpoolwhen we go on school trip.
Gals from Oxford,West-London,Essex,Milan,paris,Amsterdam,NY can't just bear me.

Oh Oh Oh !!! i now remember, has anyone ever heard this dutch accent.You wont be able to control yourself but laugh your heart out.they speak cool when speaking Dutch or French but English is not their thingy so when they try to speak it u wont have any choice than to laugh.i spent 3 nights in amsterdam just before last CHRISTMAS and i discovered that the naija accent is not the worst.but u wont struggle to pick up what they are yearning especially the gals.Amsterdam is coool

There is nothing special about the accent. It's just the way we talk. There is nothing more disgusting than seeing people that try to hide their accent with fake yankee or british accent. Speak good grammar and pronounce your words like they are expected to be pronounced. Let your listeners determine if your accent is sexy or not. Some oyinbo people just marvel at the depth of our vocabulary. I've been called a "sexy devil" a few times when I get into conversations with my yankee friends. So I guess some people like it.

Nigerian accent sexy? Well, i'll say it depends. Every tribe's got their accent which most of d time finds its way into the spoken english. The Nigerian accent i cud consider sexy is that of d educated hausa man/woman. Your accent cud b cool or sexy if u pronounce words as they should b, not 'yoroenglish' or 'engiligbo'. Panthress, u got me ROTFLMAO with 'a rolly is clossing d load' OMG!

yeah, if it's light and clear not faked ! neutral with no hint of being able to say which part of country the person is from just smooth , Back in school i met this well presented boy whose looks/appearance swept me off my feet! but all these flew out of the window when I picked this ibo , oh! sorry ! igbo accent in his voice , it's not about his tribe, I 've dated an igbo boy in d past !
