There are 18,000 free books in the Project Gutenberg Online Book Catalog. http://www.gutenberg.org/
You can search by author or by title, there is hardly any classic that is not here. I have been downloading here for years and best thing is you don't have to register. The online book catalog is at http://www.gutenberg.org/catalog/
