Hi, amor4ce
Apple's Macbook uses the macintosh operating system which is based on unix. Therefore you are going to find lots of differences between your macbook and windows based operating systems among which are different program extensions. Microsoft windows systems uses programs that end with the .exe extension while macintosh systems uses programs that end with the extension. Your Apple Macbook is compatible with a lot of isps and networks but the major problem is when these isp's or networks require you to install specialised software before getting access to the network. Na there the wahala dey. This is because windows based computers make up a large percentage of the computing world and so by default companies when making software cater to the overall larger public. So, now down to your main questions :-
1. I honestly can't say but as i earlier mentioned unless they require you to install specialized software before you can browse i don't see any reason why you can't use any normal isp. However, the configuration for mac is going to be different than for windows systems.
2. Sorry, i don't have a mac. but i think mac comes with a worfd processor among its utilities. just check carefully around and you should definitle see one.
3. Yes, Apple Mac's now come with a virtualization software that allows you to run windows based programs. you should be able to run .exe programs with it. Unfortunately, i have forgotten its name. Google it and check Apple's website for more info. Hope this was helpful. Goodluck.

Am a linux user and mac, linux, they all share the unix structure. For the exe problem give wine a try www.winehq.org and download the mac version. Also for the isp issue all you need is parameters from them. I use celtel on linux, some friends use starcomms, reltel etc all they needed was the dialup no the username and password finished. You can take a look at www.ubuntunigeria.wordpress.com

@adewaleafolabi & @samir101ng, www.winehq.com worked. couldnt experiment with d starcomm dial-up though 'because of incopatible cables.anyway i'm opting 4 broadband as from next month.i went to MWEB this wk & was told starter pack is N249,000 and 20k/month!?!i don't know when Glo's optic fibre would be ready. apple's virtualisation software is llels Desktop 3.0 for Mac ( http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?productLearnMore=TN831LL/A).i installed office 2008 for mac and that's d closest microsoft would be getting to d macbook. its a machine
