In deep debate with my thoughts
Just to sort out the way I feel about you
I have spent days in a maze
Lost in a daze, swimming in a river of blurred nonfiction
Sinking into sweet illusions about you
I want you to know that these words
From these lips
Speak these rhymes
All and only about you
It’s about waking up to you
Your arms safely snug around my chest
If I am a gift, you are the lace that is placed to perfect me
It’s about holding your hand
Reading your palms with the tips of my finger
Like a map, I take a journey into your history
Locked like a mystery, indented and intertwined in your fingerprint
My only link to your past
So I hold you
It’s about kissing your lips
Soft and full
Tongues touch
I savor the taste of you
Like a warm night under the moon as the cool breeze flows, and the grass tickles my toes
Like the sweetest dessert melting into heavenly moans of delight
I kiss you
It’s about your eyes
Sugary brown
Feels like I’m gazing into eternity
A woman’s soul opened
I see fire in your eyes
They keep me warm
I see water in your eyes
They quench my thirst
I see the future in your eyes
They give me hope
So I gaze on into you
It’s about how much I want you

Crave you
Deserve you
Adore you
This unquenched desire
This untamed affection
Is a constant reminder that every word written
From every pen I have held
