NIGERIA IS A COUNTRY OF YESTERDAY

Nigeria is a country of yesterday. Year after year things got worst, people always believe in the past rather than the present. their only consolation is hope and  "ego better", but things are never better, always got worst. For the past 30 years things has gone steadily downhill in all aspect of human endeavour. Road , education , morality, food supplies, electricity , water, corruption , have all deteriorated year after year unabated. Despite the fact that the revenue accruing to the governmet has  increases. The only thing that improve in Nigeria is economic indices which mean nothing to the common man on the ground.

Ask the average Nigerian he would replied that; Shagari regime is better than Babangida regime, also Babangida is better than Abacha regime, moreover Abacha is better than Obasanjo regime.  That last year is better than this year, last two years is better than this year. The past has always been better . Every year things seems to get worst, more Nigerians are pushed below the poverty line.

Increasingly, people have criticise the Obasanjo regime, l do believe in years to come, history would be kind to him. He would be remembered for introduction of gsm mobile phone and cancellation of Nigeria debt. The mobile phone industry lead to the creation of millions of jobs that was unprecedented in Nigerian history, it impacted on every single Nigerian even in abroad. On the flip side the massacre in Benue and odi, increased communal /religious riot, Lagos bomblast rackless utterances would dampen his good work. Altogether, history would forgive him.

HISTORY WOULD FORGIVE YOU IF YOU TAKE THE WRONG DECISION, BUT HISTORY WOULD NEVER FORGIVE YOU IF YOU TAKE NO DECISION AT ALL.  that is the problem with the present baba go slow regime.

History will never forget Umar Yar'Adua as well. In one year, he has the following 'achievements' to his credit:

1. Obtaining loan for repairs and maintenance of Nigerian Roads. Though the fund may end up in the pockets of some individuals. The history there is that he brought us back us to the IMF debtors list.

2. Declaring war on the people of the Niger-Delta (precisely Rivers State) all in the name of wiping out militancy.

Before you know it, Nigerians will have more than enough reasons to praise Obasanjo regime over that of Yar'Adua. Cool
