How Is Vision 20 20 Going To Work?
« on: July 04, 2008, 06:31 PM »

Recently the government of Nigeria surprised me by declaring to the oustide world that by the year 2020, Nigeria will be amng the 1st 20 strongest economy in the world. In my purzzlement  I theorised that the Federal government must be mad.
I have to ask my self question on how this is going to be a reaality given the retrogressive steps the government is taking in every step it is making. I cannot fail to ask my self whether good foundation is no longer the key to every sustainable acheivement .
But what is the government puting in place to see that the world do not laugh at them when the time comes? Is it rigging of election and murderring hundreds of oppositions? Is it  witch-hunting some tribes in their legitimate business,  Is it by deploying soldiers to the niger-delta while refusing to heed to their cry.  Is it by being unnable to create job avenues to the teaming populace?
Is it by making sure that there is no refinery in Nigeria.? Is it by asking the same failed and corrupt old men in NEPA to find a soltion to electricity problem?
Is it by banning OKADA riders  from roads? Is it by disengaging voiceless okada riders from their means of daily bread?
Is it by leaving the educational systems in shambles? Is it by not providing  electricity for local industries? Is it by making Deisel Cost unbearable for the same Industries?
Is it by ignoring university lecturers for 2 years when they were on strike.
Is it by not providing avenues for reseach in  institutions?

How  on earth are we going to be a world power with this present Nigeria?

Please I need somebody to tell me how?

Nigeria is visionless. there wont be any 2020, the future:

government will continue to loot the treasury, Niger delta militant would continue their violent agitation, the police will continue to collect bride and run away when armed robbers appears, the military will sell weapons and other hardwares to anybody who has the money, the economy will deteriorate, more Nigerians will continue to suffer, riots and communal clashes will continue, politicians will continue to tell lie and loot the treasury, after 50 years Nigeria will disintergrate

LOL, you actually took me serious. On a serious note i think the answers are quite obvious so i don't know if it is a rhetorical question. The country is so messed up so where does one start, and do you mean how citizens can work towards this or are my meant to answer on account of what the government can do? On a more serious note though, i can't believe you are asking how the power of positive thoughts can work. We all hold hands and think positive thoughts and things just happen, it is a Nigerian phenomenom. You do not know this, and you call yourself a Nigerian?

The only way 2020 will happen is miracles which is the only business God is in.

Other than that the vision 2020 is just a pipe dream and soundbite of a clueless President.

It is like trying to pass university without primary school or secondary school. If it is just Nigeria alone that is possible but if you are trying to measure yourself against other countries of the world, then forget it.

Also I refer to the vision as police N20 N20 vision, and i am sure even the police minimum take by 2020 will be at least N100 or N500.

As they say, in a game of lieing, if they are deceiving me I must not deceive myself. If the person being lied to does not know that he is being lied to, at least the person lieing knows that he is lieing.

Politicians is just  a glorified name for liers in Nigeria more than any other country. look, my friends enjoy yourself while those politicians kept deceiving themselves.

Maybe they meant vision 2200. . . . .
In 2020. . . .Nigeria would be back to the stone age. . . . . .
Where you wouldn't even need no matches before u can cook.  . . .Just get 2 stones and a dry leaf and Phew!. . . .Let there be light! Cheesy
Forget about electricity. . . . .we would be using the moon as our electricity by then. . . .Just like the good old days. . .  . Cheesy
