Wrong what??  You see the amazing foolishness of our leaders. If Osama bin Laden came to Nigeria tomorrow, they'll rename Murtala Mohammed Airport after him. If Neyo visits abuja, they'll probably name the National assembly after him. And just wait till beyonce visits the president, she'll be the face of the new 500Naira note

Mesmy

If Rio Ferdinand could be given a chieftancy title for God knows what {perhaps for coming to Lagos}, this one is less surprising

Actually he was raising awareness to the world's bigwigs bout water crisis in Africa
With global warming's threat becoming stronger, I think we should be seeing the good side

Nah . . . he's actually proud of the achievement

On Lost One(Kingdom Come 2006)
I was crowned King in Africa
Up in Nigeria, do you have any idea

Ok, thanks. .

You know what I think, I think he should be in US , setting his awareness not in Africa. US contributes more to global warming with all its electricity, car pollutions etc.

Anywaz sha, big ups to Jay Z! but naming a road after him? Do I hear ego boost?

His next song will be about his new road in naija. .

They renamed a street after him, so what?
In some parts of Lagos, the first person to build a house on a street gets it named after himself
So WTF are you on?

My cousin is 25, his dad named a street after him in Edo state
The Local Government Certificate is still there
I can scan it if you want

With as low as $800, anyone can have a street named after him especially outside Lagos State.
Names are just names.
In the next 10 years, a governor can decide against it and name the same street Seun Osewa. Grin

Jay-Z was also given a chieftancy tiltle - Seriki n waka which means The King of Music. Naming a road after him is not a big deal. He really appreciated all the love showed to him in Nigeria beacuse I heard him specifically talking about the chieftancy title on MTV Base.
I watched some of his projects in some African Schools including providing bore hole water, toilet and others for pupils and students of those schools. Therefore, all the love showed to him in Nigeria is very justified.

im one for standing up for nigeria all the time but this is the height of it,lets assume they have to bring in a star, why cant they try the great african artiste s like youssour n dour ,salif keita e.t.c whose songs have meaning, are international stars and would actually appreciate all these stuffs, what im seeing with these people is that they r trying to tap into the nigerian youths pshyce, thats why governors invite sports start, movie and hip hop artistes, the sad thing is that most times its probably their 10 to 15 year old children's favourite artiste

Wasn't his visit like a year ago? Or did he recently visit Nigeria again. Anywayz, I never heard about the naming-a-street-after-him thingy, so I guess this is new.

@lucabrasi, I don't think Jay Z was initially invited to Nigeria because of these events. His Major assignment in the country then, was the THISDAY MUSIC FESTIVAL which also features Kelly Rowland, P. Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Missy Elliot and Beyonce. I am not sure whether Mary J. Blige made it to Nigeria for that same event.
Kwara State Government just used that opportunity (THISDAY MUSIC FESTIVAL) to honour him since, they appreciate all he has been doing to help of African children.

@Javalove. One love Cheesy
