@ Afeni, I totally agree wit u, Nigerians find it very diffcult accepting the realities of the situation on ground rather they always march to the church/mosque in search of miracle.
But lets face the fact, Nigeria might likely not survive 2007 with the situation on ground. Certainly nobody wants war, but ironically power is not given rather it is taken. Apart from the Core North, every other section of Nigeria wants to be on its own but the fear is WAR,. They are scared of the federal troops doing unto them as they did unto the IGBOs(Biafrans), that's why Obj tactically tried using the Third-term project to destabilize the nation as to aver the Yurobas of any national "anger" but that didnt work now he is pitching North against the South-South/South-Eastthus creating a deadlock situation which is likely to be settled with arms theyby making the South-West once again the onlookers and thats a perfect way to walk away without distroying Lagos and all those infrastures he has laboured to put in place in the yurobaland.

Do you sincerely believe what you are saying or is that a joke? A cheating husband would think his wife is cheating when she gets a text from anyone. You see the world through the lense of your reasoning. It make better sense when you reverse this statement but from where I stand this is what I have to say. When you refine your outlook to life you are actually refining the world you live in.

Hey guys,
Please look deeply at the prevailing situation before alleging someone is knocking other people heads as if those can't think for themselves. When will we learn that the person at the centre doesn't really matter as the people surrounding them? The advisers, the sycophants, those are the ones that matter. I really want the presidency to go to an ethnic minority to see what exactly will happen. I have this feeling Nigeria will be better off for it.
I agree with those that advocate pidgin Eglish as an official language in Naija. I must however say this is not a total soultion in itself, but part of the larger solution. All of us, MUslim, christian, Igbo, Hausa, Tiv, Efik suffer from the same disease-poverty. I fwe can somehow resolve that problem, all these issues of who rules will be a thing of the past. Let's consequently advocate a solution to poverty, instead of talking division and similar issues.

I agree with those that advocate pidgin English as an official language in Naija. I must however say this is not a total solution in itself, but part of the larger solution. Pidgin English would be great, but it has to be modified, refined, you know, systematized and standardized so that it can be taught in schools. Indonesia is also a country of multiple languages and cultures (actually far more than Nigeria I think) but they invented their own national language: Indonesian, out of a pidgin language. I think many people have talked about forming a Nigerian language but no one has really worked hard at it. I think it can work though if we put our minds to it. It will not solve all our problems as ajia says, but will definitely go a long way in fostering national unity: language IS the embodiment of culture. While we are working on that, I think that indigenous languages should be made compulsory in elementary and secondary schools. Each Nigerian should speak, in addition to their indigenous language, two other languages foreign to him/her. It should not be an option but a requirement!

Well, I personally feel that 2 states around Abuja should be evacuated and dedicated to this new ethnic group which is going to be made up of citizens with parents of more two different ethnic groups.
They only should be given welfare packages and other benefits from the state.
In fact, a citizen with 3 grand parents with different ethnic groups benefits more, and a citizen with 4 grand parents of different ethnic group is the ultimate Nigerian breed.

Nigeria problem is not ethnicity or cultural heritage, but delusional and visionless present day culture.Culture is a way of life and it is dynamic based on the people's mentality and intellects.
