Celtel Begins Compensation To Customers
« on: July 06, 2008, 03:39 AM »

In fulfilment of its promise to pay its customers the N175 compensation as directed by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Celtel has commenced the initial phase of payments.

According to the phased compensation plan released last May by Celtel Nigeria, 40 percent of active subscribers as at 31st January 2008 (who are still active as at 1st July, 2008) will be compensated between today and 15th July, 2008.

Justifying the phased plan, the CEO of Celtel Nigeria, Bayo Ligali explained that the objective was to sustain the integrity of the network, adding that Quality of Service could be compromised if every customer receives and utilises the N175 airtime simultaneously.

In line with its agreement with the NCC, Celtel had pledged to make the payment in three batches between July 1st and August 15th, 2008 as follows:

i)   Batch 1 – 40 percent of active subscribers as at 31st January 2008 (who are still active as at 1st July, 2008) will be compensated in the period 1st July to 15th July, 2008.

ii)  Batch 2 – 30 percent of active subscribers as at 31st January 2008 (who are still active as at 16th July, 2008) will be compensated in the period 16th July to 30th July, 2008.

iii)  Batch 3 – 30 percent of active subscribers as at 31st January 2008 (who are still active as at 1st August, 2008) will be compensated in the period 1st August to 15th August, 2008.

I just got mine, but it is only retricted to celtel networks, you can't call other networks with it, unlike MTN we could call every other network
