One effective way to develop our nation
One way to develop a nation is via the transmission of knowledge. Developed societies boast of proficient and effective human resources developed through quality training and education.
It is not strange therefore to see these societies produce vibrant and developed economies as a result.
To attain this desired end there is the need to provide quality education at the reach of as many numbers of people as possible. Indeed as it is commonly said “you are what you know”. What you know however is a times determined by how accessible the route to such knowledge acquisition is. The high cost of education in some countries especially developing and under developed ones makes it quite challenging for low income earners to do this.
In these countries there are several people that can barely send all of their family child members to school, talk less of paying through the nose for it. Nigeria is a relevant example. Private institutions offer desirable education at a cost that is only considered from afar off. It seems the rich become richer and the poor are left in the hands of their own destinies or in the care of others inmost cases to busy with other engagements.
Despite this development, two groups of people are contributing positively to avert and reverse this trend. The private sector as well as the intellectual community. The private sector taking the lead in some economic development efforts and contributing towards welfare schemes and the intellectuals contributing knowledge relevant for human and societal development.
Through this year, we are happy to announce Harris Phillips Life Skills and Learning Center as one of such efforts to better the lot of people in our society.
With programmes targeted towards overall and personal development, we are happy to be part of a functional and progressive Nigerian dream.
Detailed below are some of the efforts so far and much more to come as well…
