some of the responses to this question are quite funny.
As if some did not read properly or they don't understand.

As a matter of fact an interview is not same as aptitude test. Sometimes people attend apt test when not invited (gate crashers). And they are the ones that cause the type of troubles that was witnessed during the customs recruitment exercise. But interview is more organized planed for and u too do plan for it.
In some c ases the interviewer calls in the interviewees one after the other holding the cvs.
SO its more of one on one thing, now tell me how good it is that someone called u in to have a chat with u and u just stand up to walk out meanwhile u were invited and u willingly came no one forced u.
However big u thing that your dream is what u do now and in the process of attaining it matters.
Its a big nonsense, snubbish to walk out on who u r to chat with.

Whatever it is that u r are asked, patience, calmness and maturity should be in place so u can sit tight and leave maybe never to rerurn again if u feel its not worth it

it is obvious that you haven't been called for many interviews. it not all job posting that u have to write a test. if u are applying for most entry level positions, yes u are likely to write a test, if  u have gained lots of experience and u know your worth, sister, at that point u r not likely to be called in for a test but an interview and the interview is more of a negotiation where both parties play their cards right in order to land a good deal. if your present company pays u well and u have great benefits from them and another company tries to lure u away and have u for themselves but they fall short of your expectations, u may make your point clear during the interview but they may continue to try to make u see how good their offer is even though it falls short of your present pay-rate, and they may promise u an increase in your pay check down the road(which may be 5 years down the road, thats a vague statement), at that point u can excuse urself with a polite point, saying stuff like, i really must be on my way now sir/ma, i appreciate your time and offer but i will pass on it, and then u leave the room with out letting them utter a word(if u r already pissed off). my point is, when u have gained experience, in most cases, both parties hold an ace and u have the right to use urs too. my present job, i got in 2005, and even though i was fresh from nigeria, having worked in nigeria for various companies, i kept a bold outlook to the whole interview process with the manager who happens to be the second from the GM, he had lots of questions and i gave him clear answers and to his surprise, i had tons of questions for him too, and i mean lots of questions, ranging from stuff like, if he likes his job, how long he had worked with the company and what is experience so far was, how long do employees stay in the job(this was to verify if employees like the place or they just hold the job hoping for some thing better in a short time), employee benefits, reviews by their cliente base etc, he was polite enough to answer all my questions and when he handed me over to the HR manager, he came back to tell me, " thank u for those great questions", the HR manager asked me what was that all about, i said we had a little chat Smiley.  the company is worth something so do i, so if i felt that it is a waste of my time, i will politely excuse myself and leave. but like i said in my earlier post, u have to read the situation to make a meaningful judgment of what your actions should be, not every company will accept u drilling them back with questions, u have to read and make a good assessment of where u are and what u intend to achieve. my friend, it is a game of chess, think before u act. that move can make or break u.

It is okay for walk out of an interview in my opinion.
It totally depends on the situation.
The fact that you are attending an interview doesnt mean you dont have a job or you have no self worth.
A lot of poeple have given very valid reasons to walk out of an interview.
I haven't done it but believe me, If an interviewer doesn't respect me as much as I respect myself, I will cut the interview short there and then, inform him/her why I am leaving and request a written apology in the post.

Stay for the duration of the interview. It serves as good practice for future ones that you want to consider or plan on working. If they are giving you the time of day, you should do the same. Once it is over and you make the decision that this is not the right job for you, dont come back or simply decline on a job offer.

WELL, IF THAT'S HOW TO GET THE JOB, THEN YEAH, ITS OK, OTHERWISE, THIS IS A RETARDED ASS QUESTION IF YOU STILL EXPECT TO GET DA JOB AFTERWARDS.
UNLESS OF COURSE YOU KNOW your COOL WITH NOT GETTING DA JOB OR IF IT'S FOR your DIGNITY.
BUT I'M SURE THERE AINT A PROBLEM WITH WALKING OUT AT DA END OF DA INTERVIEW UNLESS SLEEPING THERE IS PART OF GETTING DA JOB TOO.

I once walked out of an interview of sorts, early in my work career, while I was in my first job, in fact.
It was at an IT company known as Tranter ( don't know if they still exist tho).
I got there and was attended to by the receptionist, who gave me a bunch of like 1000 photocopied A+ and Network+ questions, and asked me to start answering them on a piece of paper.
No time limit, no modalities for conducting the ad-hoc tests, nothing. Three hours later I was still a little over half-way and I stood up and went to ask the receptionist (a guy) when this 'test' was supposed to end (cos it was a work day and I felt I had played hookey long enough). The guy shrugged and said 'well, just finish it. If you're tired you can always forget it and leave'. That just did it for me. I walked out without saying another word.
Reason why? I wasn't about to change my crummy IT job for another crummy one abeg.
I don't blame anybody for walking out of an interview, but it has to be an impossible situation. Nowadays I would never walk out of an interview for any reason. Wouldn't even attend in the first place if I felt it wasn't for me.
Peace.

@ Poster,
My bro does it all the time! Lol. . . In my opinion, it is okay. Some employers deserve it, especially those that ask for high qualifications owing to the task(s) that the job entails, then offer you a salary that your dad gives to his gate-man. Come on now!

I once walked out of an interview immediately after my employer-to-be quoted the remuneration package, but I had the simple courtesy to tell him that the interview would not proceed any further as I was never gonna settle for that amount of money. I jokingly requested him to add a "zero" to that figure which he of course declined and that's when I knew that he was serious about making a slave out of me.
