PRESS RELEASE
2007/2008 CLEARANCE EXERCISE FOR FRESH STUDENTS
This is to inform all UME and Direct Entry candidates admitted for the 2007/2008 session that clearance of candidates has been scheduled as follows:
DATE: Monday, 21st January to Friday, 15th February, 2008
TIME: 9.00 am – 5.00 pm each day (except Sundays)
VENUE: Akin Deko Main Auditorium, Ugbowo Campus.
PROCEDURE:
(a) Candidates are expected to have completed their Eligibility Forms online after purchasing the N250 – Admission Checking Scratch Cards and the N10,500 Clearance Scratch Cards.
(b) Only Candidates who have completed their online clearance should report at the Akin Deko Main Auditorium with the following particulars:
(i) Eligibility Form Print - Out
6 copies of each of the following items:
(ii) Colour passport photograph with red background
(iii) Guarantor’s Letter
(iv) Acceptance Letter
(v) Age Declaration/Birth Certificate
(vi) PUME/PUDE Admission Slip Print Out
(vii) Statements of Result/Certificates showing candidates qualifications.
(viii) WAEC/NECO Scratch Card for checking results online
Original copies of the above are required for sighting only.

UNIBEN admits 5,000 fresh students, unfolds academic calendar
THE over 5,000 fresh students admitted by the University of Benin for the 2007/2008 academic session have been directed to resume next Monday.
According to a statement by Mr. Eddy Akpomera, the institution's Head of Public Relations and Protocol, the Senate of the university approved that fresh students should commence the mandatory clearance and registration on this date, following the conclusion of the Post University Matriculation Examinations (PUME) and the Post University Direct Entry Exercise (PUDE).
Returning students, Akpomera noted, are to resume on February 3, while first semester lectures would commence the next day. Matriculation for all fresh students is scheduled for March 3.
Akpomera also stated that first semester examinations would begin on April 28, while the second semester segment would begin in the third week of June.
