The Rose Factor!
« on: July 10, 2008, 04:33 PM »

Nigerian women in the past decade rarely attach any emotional value to flowers. Our birthdays, xmas and val presents should be anything but rose but nowadays, it seems to be changing rapidly. Nigerian women are quickly adopting the western culture and expecting their lovers to bring roses anytime they can(they expect you tho to bring it with your xmas/val/birthday/sick bed/menstrual pain/apology etc).

Guys:
Are you poised to accept this new trend in Naija women and ready to spend accordingly on different shades of rose flower weekly to make her happy? If you are married, will you dedicate up to N200K per annum as rose allowance from your salary just to keep this new tradition going?

Ladies:
Are you one of the new age rose friendly women? Will you rather receive it every time he wants to apologize or you are sick or he wants to be plain romantic even though some of them costs over N3K/bunch OR are you among those that still prefer recharge cards Grin?

I am not into flowers. Give me flowers when you want to apologize or whatever, I will throw it inside the trash can right in front of you.
What do I want to do with flowers? They'll die eventually.

Well growing up in the states, it was common to be given flowers. me personally i rather receive flowers just because it is Tuesday. it shows that you don't need a holiday or a illness to show how much you care about me.

I'm into nature but thats only when it means sitting in the shade provided by many different trees and drinking pammy while reading a nice article,  The serenity and the gentle breeze blowing into my low cut hair etc. N200k is Approx. £850.00 - that is an absolute joke!

A $10 rose flower per week comes to $560 per yr. That is the cheapest you can get, some dudes buy $50-$80 rose per wk.

When u work hard and earn your money, u wont like to spend it on rose that they will place in a bottle of water for 10hrs and it starts dying. It is the oyibo man's culture, our women don't appreciate it. Whether it cost $560 or £850 a year, in my opinion it will always be a waste. . .  Why not gather that £850 and get her a lovely night out or even go shopping. . .  Surely thats better than one silly rose every week?

where you get your facts from that lots of Nigerian women appreciate flowers these days?

Fafafa Fowwll!

The only time the ladies appreciate flower is when they want to buy bouquet they will throw at their wedding reception chikena. Prove me wrong.

i appreciate flowers any time of the year. any day of the week.
