What he's talking about is not being someone else with one set of people and being someone else to your partner. Like how dudes hang out and talk - he can also talk like that with his wife. So he reckons if there is 'ever' a time that one of them feels (and i think in their case, it will take a whole lotta 'feeling') to go see another person. Even if one sentence is zeroed on and blown out of proportion, it's well blown. If you're going to get married and still plan on entertaining thoughts of philandering about, why marry in the first place? Totally against the concept of marital sanctity and commitment.
