I intended to buy a a ride but don't know which brand to settle for due what people are saying can some experts help me in terms of durability fuel consumption availability of mechanics and part and cheep maintainance. the brands i have in mind are Rover, Honda, Mazda and Toyota

The other brands are fine, with Toyota coming tops, in the JD Power survey in terms of customer satisfaction.
Toyota's are reliable to the point of boredom, you can't lose if you bought one.
