Before You "order" Your Car From The Usa, Read This!
« on: July 15, 2008, 11:29 PM »

Between October and November 2007, I sent the sum of thirty thousand and fifty dollars ($30,050) to a certain car dealer to buy me three Nissan pick-up trucks from the US. After weeks of stories and excuses and no cars, I called his siblings and his wife and they all basically told me to go and sort myself out with him as there wasn't much they could do to help.

After much wahala, he sent one (1) vehicle! A 2004 truck with odometer fraud!! It had thirty something thousand on the clock but the carfax showed that it had actually done 187,000miles!!!

In addition to the said truck this dealer has also refunded some money. He still has my balance which he literally has refused to pay.

You can read all the details @ www.bozoautos.com.

Getting my money out of this man has been a most harrowing experience. Without meaning to spoil business for those car dealers who collect ‘upfront’ payment, my experience has been that if you work for your money and you value your sleep, take your bank statement and print outs from autotrader.com to the embassy, they'll give u a visa. Otherwise, wait till the car gets here and pay market price.
That’s my own “2cents”.

See www.bozoautos.com for yourself.

@Lagoshyn,

I don't think this dealer meant to fraud u, like u said, he sent u back $16k. 419/fraud dealer will not even exist anymore after receiving ur money. I'm sure u've learned ur lesson, never send money to anyone overseas unless to ur mom or dad. As for the dealer he did u wrong on the odometer fraud. I hope every nairaland users will read this and learn from it.  If interested in a vehicle overseas, negotiate, allow vehicle to arrive ur destination and make payment when vehicle arrives.

Sorry for your ordeal, however, you will agree with me, that not everyone would do such a thing.
It is smart for people to know what they are doing before they send such an amount of money, you should have played it smart too and not send the entire money before you see a car; for a deal of such you have 2 choices:
1. Send some of the money down and pay the balance at sight of your car.
2. Pay full price if the person is doing you a fovour.
While all these are being said, there are stil genuine car dealers out there that you will get quality for your money.
Now do i sound like a car dealer looking for business, you damn right, i am a car dealer looking for business, would i do such to you, surely not.
Good luck with your next purchase.

Chinoxyl, you don't know the half of it! Prayer and doggedness have brought the matter to this point where I have collected this much back.

Do you know how much I have spent on phone calls? Calling his wife, his brother, his pastor all in the US?

I even travelled to the US to go and look for him. I went to his house in Maryland, USA and he called the police to come and throw me out for trespassing.

As for Fhemmy, yes, "I should have played it smart, " please get the full info @ http://www.bozoautos.com/whole-story.asp.

Tunde BOzo's brother and cousins are my friends. He had helped me to by and ship vehicles once before and he was being paid a commission so,  I wasn't expecting him to want to devour my capital.

Alas,

Lagoshyn, I can only imagine what you have had to go through. Sorry OOO!!!

However, I personally have 1 major rule for business and it is : "don't DO BUSINESS WITH FRIENDS" or their relatives etc. People then to take you for granted when they know they can always talk to you as per friend.

On the other hand, I have bought several vehicles over the internet through car dealers (in Europe and the USA) and have ended up having them become friends.

I just concluded a car purchase from a dealer on NL and this dealer I now consider a very good and trusted friend.

I know that with your past experience with the guy, you must have felt secure, but things always change and personally, I will not deal with people who can't afford the funds I give them. If you can trust a man with 100K, can you trust him with 1M??

Anyway, all the best!!!!
