How can you connect your satellite decoder to your DVD player so you still have the surround effect of the home cinema? It looks like one would be needing a receiver amplifier.

Have you tried it and it is not working, I felt it is as simple as connecting your TV to DVD player with the same cable you used in connecting your TV.

yes i have. i connected the decoder to the player by a scart and then turned the dvd on. The idea is to make it work as if its the dvd playing. Anyhow, someone just told me that to have that effect i'd need an amplifier or receiver that would enable me conect all the works. Cheers mate.

hi horton. av not tried it with SCART connection but i use normal cable & it works. just go & change d mode on your DVD player. You don't need a separate amplifier so long as your DVD player has one. Dstv which i use has in-built stereo capability & i guess your own decoder has it too if its not Dstv. i just hope that by "DVD player" u mean a deck & not one of those flat single loaders. Good luck.
