Urgent: Legal Officer

Our client, a recently licensed Microfinance Bank in Nigeria with the goal of being a reference point for Microfinance Banking Services in the country is about to commence operations. To ensure a smooth and aggressive take off of operations, the Bank is looking to fill the following positions within its organisation structure:

Legal Officer – MGT 004

Core Functions for this position are:
• Interact with and help to maintain the relationship with the company’s relevant regulatory body, carrying out the registration of company’s agreements and the maintenance of the database of registration certificates
• Advising the Legal and Compliance Director and other senior executives on corporate governance matters on a day-to-day basis.
• Providing general corporate governance advice to all of the company's business units.
• Providing strategic leadership to the corporate secretarial function ensuring good corporate governance becomes culturally embedded.
• Handling any other responsibility reasonably assigned by the Legal Director as and when necessary

Qualifications
• A Law degree from a reputable institution.
• Must have finished Law School.
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a similar role.
Person Specifications
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Good inter-personal skills, ability to liaise with people at all levels & good presentation skills
• Highly organized working practices with exceptional attention to detail
• Not older than 38 years of age.
