well I am quite torn between the two. I absolutely love both and they have got great characters I don't know which to choose - where do I start? Carrie's love for shoes, Samantha's sexual prowess; Toni's love for all things Toni & her inability to remember Mya's son's name , Lynn's witty remarks etc. Its really great entertainment! when shall we see series like those come out of Naija@desiree, there are actually a few comparisons if you look at it closely, like a mini- black SATC! |

I'm a movie/series freak! I like both Sex & d city and Girlfriends,but I LOVE GIRLFRIENDS!!!! The show is hilarious and rily rocks-it has everything altogether just in the right combo. I particularly love Toni Childs-she's just too much! VERDICT-Loves it!!!!!!!! |

Girlfriends is amusing and all but a poor ripoff of SATC which actually deals with real issues that go across racial lines. Girlfriends focuses too much on race which I find annoying. |

I hear Girlfriends is being cancelled, after this season. Hasnt been confirmed though.
The show just struggled badly after Toni left. Monica isnt quite the same.
They should make a Girlfriends movie as well.
The writers are just too good. Mara Brooks Akil is one of the top black female writer/producers in the field, I think. There's also a mysterious Temi Akinyemi listed as one of the directors or writers, in the show credits. I couldnt find out much about her. But she must be good.
SATC is ok, but seeing some of those ladies without makeup on, is a bit of a shock.

Other networks go on and on til the whole world is sick of them and they are forced to have it removed with a proper series finale. It's sad. |
