see this thread the act is still alive and well in some quarters

Please whatever you do, don't laugh about this. My friend (a lawyer) got married to this doctor from Oyo town in Oyo State. A year after they had their first son, they decided to visit their old folks in Oyo. On the second day after their arrival, the mother-in-law offered to take the toddler out. My friend naturally agreed.

In the evening when they came back, the young boy was screaming his head off. Guess what? the poor little boy had been given eight ( pieces tribal mark! My friend nearly died. She refused to accept the branded baby and fled to Lagos. She is contemplating legal action against the mother in law and a divorce against her husband for not condemning the brutal attack. Can surgery help? Please advise her.

I think he's (CH3COO) trying to imply thatit's usually prejudice people that count the "type" of people they know just to seem less prejudice to others

Like when you see white people who say "I'm not racist! I have 2 black friends!"

It's like why count them as that if it didnt matter to you?

Get it now?

Thanks oo my sister. I 'm glad I'm not the only one that can see through her.

"I'm not racist! I have 2 black friends!"

She's trying to use the oldest trick in the book !!!!  Pitiful  Embarrassed

In justice to Queen, I think this thread does show that some peeps have something against people with tribal marks, when it comes to dating.

Queenisha,
What are tribal marks?

I have seen some people with scars( some more hedious than others  on their faces). Are those what are refer to as tribal marks?
Also what is the significance of such, Honestly, it looks barbaric to me, Just my two cents, No insults intended,

I couldn't forgive myself for stereotyping someone over something beyond her control.  It's analogous to racism.  I would much rather join Hitler's extremist party.

Yea it is

To be honest seeing a YOUNG person with tribal marks says alot about the family and frankly I wouldnt want to be part of a family that thinks such things are right.

Even if the dude is the best, you have to wonder about the kind of people that will end up being your in-laws

Tribal marks are not something that a chic can hide. . . .It's right there pasted on her face.
Chatting her up is a nah-nah(never mind taking her out on a date or marriage).
