see this thread the act is still alive and well in some quarters Please whatever you do, don't laugh about this. My friend (a lawyer) got married to this doctor from Oyo town in Oyo State. A year after they had their first son, they decided to visit their old folks in Oyo. On the second day after their arrival, the mother-in-law offered to take the toddler out. My friend naturally agreed.
In the evening when they came back, the young boy was screaming his head off. Guess what? the poor little boy had been given eight ( pieces tribal mark! My friend nearly died. She refused to accept the branded baby and fled to Lagos. She is contemplating legal action against the mother in law and a divorce against her husband for not condemning the brutal attack. Can surgery help? Please advise her. http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-5071.0.html#msg169315

I think he's (CH3COO) trying to imply thatit's usually prejudice people that count the "type" of people they know just to seem less prejudice to others
Like when you see white people who say "I'm not racist! I have 2 black friends!"
It's like why count them as that if it didnt matter to you?
Get it now?
Thanks oo my sister. I 'm glad I'm not the only one that can see through her. "I'm not racist! I have 2 black friends!" She's trying to use the oldest trick in the book !!!! Pitiful

Would you marry a handsome, sexy, nice mannered, well educated 6' 4"respectable gentleman from Ekiti with a good credit, good breathe and great job with large tribal marks Wink They wouldnt be large because Ekiti tribal marks arent big Anyway if he was still attractive with the marks and had all those other qualities, I'll be fine.

Why is a simple thread about dating or not dating a tribally marked individual such a sensitive topic to you. I'm disappointed in you Have you been hanging with arnold Why can't you answer the topic and leave osu threads for osu discussion?

It's a preference, I think. In justice to Queen, I think this thread does show that some peeps have something against people with tribal marks, when it comes to dating.

Queenisha, What are tribal marks?
I have seen some people with scars( some more hedious than others on their faces). Are those what are refer to as tribal marks? Also what is the significance of such, Honestly, it looks barbaric to me, Just my two cents, No insults intended,

I couldn't forgive myself for stereotyping someone over something beyond her control. It's analogous to racism. I would much rather join Hitler's extremist party.

How shallow Even she had an ample pair of "mercedes" and a well rounded bakassi and posessed all the qualities of a good woman?

Yea it is
To be honest seeing a YOUNG person with tribal marks says alot about the family and frankly I wouldnt want to be part of a family that thinks such things are right.
Even if the dude is the best, you have to wonder about the kind of people that will end up being your in-laws

Well then. . . . I think the next appropriate question would be to ask Queenisha if she created this thread to become more enlightened, or to scoff at the abundance of tribal marks in Yoruba community.

But sometimes the parents have no control over that; it becomes the grandparents' fault. What if they're dead when you do decide to become part of the family? I am struggling with your excuse.

Or what is the point sleeping with her and I am facing the wall every night? If na for fling settings, sure no wahala. But marriage for life, I will be seeing an Owala babe, not my preference at all.

Of course, it's a huge task. Physcial attraction plays a huge role for me. . . . She gast to be good-looking before i even venture to say hi. Tribal marks are not something that a chic can hide. . . .It's right there pasted on her face. Chatting her up is a nah-nah(never mind taking her out on a date or marriage).

You won't even date black girls. whites don't have tribal marks so you won't even be in that dilemma
