This Is Why Africans Look Down On Black Americans
« on: July 19, 2008, 03:09 AM »

i saw the most racially biased documentary on the news tonight. first off they tried to say black people make up almost all the AIDS cases but yet statistics UNBIASED statistics say different.

second they tried to say black people sleep around more than white people that's why they have AIDS more often.
ive done research and it was found that there is no evidence that blacks are more promiscuous than whites.

third they tried to say AIDS was because of high incarceration rates than black men and that more black men are in jail than in college. but yet black men in college outnumber black men in jail 4 times.

they tried to say black men are more subjected to violence than white but yet whites are arrested for assualt more than blacks.

then it was drugs, needle sharing was the of AIDS.
how is drug use the cause of alot of AIDS when white peope use drugs 5 times more than blacks?

STOP BELIEVING THE MEDIA. DO YOUR RESEARCH!

@ girl22, it's no news anymore. I have seen gut wrenching, sickening 'statistics' about AA. Nowadays, these 'statistics' are not even as valuable as a crap in the toilet. I ignore them because it appears there are numerous irresponsible enthusiasts and nincompoops at work. I don't know what's worse; the numerous malevolent 'statistics' out there or the fact that many (if not most) AA and CA swallow them hook, line, sinker, fishing rod, boat and fisherman.  Undecided

Anyone remember the Katrina media report where the black man was looting while the other guy (not black) was 'looking' (for food). There you have it.  Lips sealed

@poster, you're right. But then, African-Americans also believe what the American media shows them about Africa, forgetting that

they are originally from Africa. They believe what the whites tell 'em about Africa. And Africans also believe what the whites tell 'em

about African-Americans. That way, we're even. I don't fall into any of these categories anyway. I know Africa is not filled with huts

and Africans don't sleep on trees or with animals. Same way i know that not all AAs are "ghetto" or uneducated.

africans who look down on black americans for the most part don't even pay attention to the medias.I'm not talking about nigerians only, many africans disrespect black americans and call them bad names such as slaves ,africans feel that black Am were weak enough to allow themselves to be slaves for centuries, they have no culture ,language ,religion ,they call them lost souls so i don't think it's a media thing, Africans were taught to have pride and dignity and for the most part don't value material things that much(not all africans of course), even though many africans don't have pride. Many nigerians don't feel this way probably because most slaves were taken from nigeria which is part of the slave coast, I know a girl from senegal whose parents almost rejected ,denied her just because she was dating a black american, french speakers africans countries tend to dissociate themselves from black americans ,they have a superiority complex ,I have an ivorian friend who call black american slave and he told me that in his country peolpe just call them slaves, they don't emulate black american like nigerians, Akon is a good examplee ,even if he's a hip hop singer,he's very proud of his country .It's not the case for nigerians born in America they all call themselves AA ,black american, Do you know that chamillionnaire is nigerian ?he looks nigerian but he won't admit it,  but once again generalization is bad , Africans should be united!!!

Chamillionaire actually admitted he's Nigerian. He has the video on youtube.

Also, i don't know any Nigerians who call themselves African-Americans. The closest i ever came to was "Nigerian-American".

that black Am were weak enough to allow themselves to be slaves for centuries, they have no culture ,language ,religion ,they call them lost souls

that's not making sense. we were kidnapped by people with guns and powerful weapons.
we were greatly outnumbered by white people unlike hatians and jamaicans who outnumber whites.

also how are africans are going to look down on us when they were colonised? and they greatly outnumber whites.

african americans were killed if they practiced their own african cultures. many africans were sold and the africans americans and africans were separated. so how do we supposed to know about africa?

also why would africans single out africans americans for being slaves when jamaicans,hatians,afro-brazilians,afro-cubans,black british, black guyanese, barbados were slaves?

also jamaicans do not have a language, hatains speak french, brazillians speak portaguse, black cubans speak spanish ect.

these people do not have their own languages.

they practice voodoo, santeria, lucime ect. but most africans do not even practice their own traditional religions am i right?

you were not kidnapped by people with weapons as you think, you were sold or I would say you were given for free, african kings wanted to get rid off prisoners, delinquants,so the weakest tribes were sold.the idea of being kinapped makes no sense because those who were sold were part of weak tribes who were already enslaved. Africans at this time had warriors and were not as defenseless as people think, heroes like samory toure kicked out the europeans several times, As for haitians and caraibeans in general they HAVE STRONG CULTURAL TIES WITH AFRICA. slavery is not an excuse to be lost souls like you are , plus haitians led a successful revolution against their former master ,those who led the revolution were not christians ,they practised their traditional african religions, this has nothing to do with outnumbering whites masters this is an excuse for cry babies, caribeans freed themselves unlike black americans who waited for massas to stop slavery, massas even participated to the civil war to free their slaves .Amazing !!only in America, Marcus garvey a jamaican immigrant fought for black americans to give them a dignity that they will never have ,a lot of carribeans like padmore were shocked when they came to america to see how black americans were domesticated and still are almost like pets.Colonization and slavery are different there 's nothing worse than being a SLAVE and being owned by someone else, the goal of colonization was to exploit the ressources while slavery 's goal was to exploit human beings ,slaves were breeded like animals and the masters created a new race by raping their slaves, African countries fought to gain their independance proudly, africans for the most part still hold their identity and their DIGNITY and  colonization didn't last more than sixties years on average , the usa was a former british colony in case you don't know ,asian countries were colonized too,the theory of black inferiority was developped thanks to slavery. Why do you think barack obama is taken more seriously than buffoon like jesse jackson?barack is the son of an AFRICAN immigrant and a white american,he 's not a descendant of slaves. Why do you think whites don't like his wife?whites are afraid of an eventual revenge from an ex slave,

carribeans have creole at least even though they don't have their own language like africans .As for religion, how do you know that africans don't practise their traditional religion .Nigerians don't represent All Africans fortunately. Many african nations still practise their traditional religion like benin ,togo ,cote d'ivoire and I'm not talking about wikipedia statistics,I'm talking about everyday life and in those countries you won't see wars because oif religion,

this has nothing to do with outnumbering whites masters this is an excuse for cry babies, caribeans freed themselves unlike black americans who waited for massas to stop slavery, massas even participated to the civil war to free their slaves .Amazing !!only in America, Marcus garvey a jamaican immigrant fought for black americans to give them a dignity that they will never have ,a lot of carribeans like padmore were shocked when they came to america to see how black americans were domesticated and still are almost like pets.

some blacks were still kidnapped rather than sold.
and black people fought just as hard as jamaicans.  black people were fighting in america long before marcus garvey was even thought of.
marcus garvey never came to give blacks diginity he just started the back to africa movement. blacks in american never thought about relocating to africa until garvey came up with the idea.
there were 700 slave revolts annually. blacks in america were murdering, poising their slave masters.
who gave you your flawed view of black americans ? did you research black american history?
we started the black panthers, who were black activists who were psychologists, engineers, lawyers. they started lunch programs for black children and help stop crime in the black communities.
the black panthers even knew kung fu,karate and could dismantle guns from policemen.
lincoln never freed the slaves. only the the slaves in the states who refused to join the union were freed.
the majority of blacks in america were still enslaved. they had to FIGHT to be free. white people never freed us. we freed ourselves. blacks got the opportunity to vote,go anywhere they want by protesting.
caribbeans have strong ties to africa because they were never separated from their families.
they were greater in numbers.
like i said. the emcancipation of proclomation only freed a small number of slaves. the majority either revolted or escaped.
if you READ the emancipation of proclomation it says in the article only "the slaves in rebellion states will be freed" those were very few states.
the majority of the slaves escaped.

and if us being outnumbered by whites isn't an excuse what's the excuse of africans being colonised when you were in far greater numbers than whites? what's the excuse of the extreme poverty in africa when you are the richest in resources?

stop letting white people gice you black americans history and research it yourself.

all my life i had to hear the remarks from nigerians about akatas(AA) i think the whole thing is pretty stupid. how are you to look down on someone when your own people arent even doing that good either. it shows a lack of respect and just plain ignorance.
