@Burla++,I couldn't completely let d cat out of d bag because I've bcome wise to the ways of nairaland but I'm happy u were able 2 decipher my somewhat coded message.
Don't forget to holla when u make d purchase.
Tomi-ade and I look 4ward 2 admitting u into d Elite club of Hp special edition owners.
You'll be needing some softwares so here are some excellent software download websites apart from filehippo.
www.softpedia.com
www.soft82.com
www.brothersoft.com
www.tucows.com & lastly
www.download.com. As 4 media players I recommend u install realplayer11 and media monkey because they are far beta than WMP 11 d default media player.I also recommend a 1 click pc maintenance software either tuneup utilities 2008 or advanced windows care 2.8.5.0.
Don't forget d norton av and ms office suite will expire in 60 days so u can either install Openoffice.org 2.4.0/2.4.1 or ms office 2007.You can get all these softwares from d websites listed above.u can use d search bar in these websites 2 search 4 any software.e u want.
bye 4 now.
ADIOS.

ok ok, chill out. there are two options for yu if u want to use office, hard way and easy way

now, if u seriously what to use office 2000, then go ahead but u need to run it in compatibilty mode (easy way)
just install the software and right click on yur word application, select properties and then select compatibily mode and the select windows xp

hard way
because of thread rules, i can't give the the details on hw to go about the office 2007 issue but i can tell u that its possible.

let me give yu a hint, the only reason yur MS package will expire is because of yur internet connection, the software and system registry

u need to change somethingin the system registry to trickĀ  the activation server that yu are registered. accessing registry is regedit. WINDOWS KEY + R

send me an email if u need the full details

ohhhh, u can download open office, its free,  just google it

@ akdada

chill out,  i really have nothing to gain,  i help ppl with their computer related issues. i work for cisco systems and am ok

ofcourse, you have a point on buying pirated software and crap like that. but what am not collecting money from him, i am just helping Semi to be productive in a stress free way where he doesnt have to pay nothing to nobody. thats what i do. maybe others are doing it but not me, pls check all my post and check whether i have asked anyone for business or whatever you call it.  Thank You.

@ Semi
they are possibiliies why yur office might not have expired. one, its must hvae gone into reduced functionality mode ( which i doubt) or its was never a trial version. in this case, yur good to go,  as for your antivirus, just try downloading from the net using those torrent downloaders
