Almost forgot: there is a basic rule of communication etiquette: When more than two people are speaking together, it is polite to use the language they all understand. So, but I am sure some pidgin lovers will disagree and say :' na u sabi' , it is rude to speak pidgin English (or any other lingo) that excludes someone else especially when you are ALL engaged in the same conversation . Breeds suspicion, my fellow 9jan kicked out his Ghanian friend on Friday because he suspected he had been backstabbing him in Twi. Are you honestly going to tell me that it doesn't get on your nerves too? E get when man pikin dey fire pidgin and im suppose know when and where to stop am. Becos you be ghetto mama or papa no mean say every 9jan wey dey Nigeria fit blow pidgin. No always think say them dey form. You don hear typical Hausa person dey yarn pidgin wey laugh no go wan kill you? I know say until I graduate from university, I dey hardly yarn am, and I bin come from Edo, even dey school for UNIBEN! My paddy them know, and them take am like that, come even dey defend me when another person say i dey form. Now I switch back and forth with ease but, I only engage when the other person or people start speaking in it. Living in Germany makes me fiercely protective of the English I know, because I have started THINKING in German. Nein, Englisch über alles! Can't let any street lingo corrupt my English database. As for the pidgin, I know say if I stroll go Nigeria, the one wey I don forget, I go learn am again. By the way, if any of you ladies are thinking of using the word ' must' when describing how you feel you want your spouses, bfs or kids to learn pidgin i.e MUST learn pidgin, forget it. It doesn't work like that. After all, your teachers said you must learn English, and you ended up preferring pidgin instead. WTF!? I just wrote a text in pidgin!

i enjoy pidgin. i learnt it in PH but my mom didn't let us speak it. i only get to use pidgin when i'm chatting with nigerian people. i don't speak it when i'm on the phone or when i'm talking with people. maybe i use stuff like 'shaa' but that's not pidgin. i also use 'nna men' but that's igbo and english. i enjoy pidgin, especially when warri people speak it. i still don't speak pidgin to my mom and i won't even bother speaking it to my dad coa he'll just be like lol. but if i do get married to a nigerian guy and i have kids, i'll definitely take them to nigeria and they'll like to speak/understand my language, hopefully.SO PLEASE SEUN UNDERSTAND WHY I HAVE TO FLAUNT MY 'TALENT' LOL. BECAUSE IF I DON'T EXERCISE MY KNOWLEDGE OF PIDGIN THEN, I MIGHT END UP FORGETTING IT.

Actuallly, not too good. That reads like Creole, not Nigerian Pidgin. Many ethnic groups in Nigeria would translate that sentence in different ways, but the way in which you put it is, to me, not the way a Nigrian would put it. 'Today too bam. Make we waka go beach'. Or, with a little science twist: 'Today jus jel. Make we evaporate, come condense for beach.' are some of the ways in which that stuff of yours can be put.
