Help! I Want A Career In IT

I will be concluding my M.Sc Physics project in about a month and I wish to start a career in IT.I can write very simple computer programs in FORTRAN 77! I want you good people of this forum to please help with where and how to start e.g what is hot in town now in IT.

Where/how to start:

- Read a lot of books

- Attend a lot of classes/seminars

- Get a server/dev environment where u can implement what uv learnt

- Give yourself an assignment and implement it.

Whatz hot?

J2EE, PHP, JSP, AJAX, LAMP, to mention a few Grin
