Basically the only winners were europeans. Africans got wounded bad . And its going to take centuries for these wounds to heal.

As for its effects it goes on  and on. Colourism, racism, slavery, self esteem, language, economics, class structure, culture.

As for the positives and negatives. The negatives by far outweigh the postives. With a ratio of like 200:1.

As much as colonialism had stronger negative influence it also has its positive influence whether we like to consider it or not. (positive) IT led to the introduction of western education to Africans (nigerians) although they only wanted to teach us the basics. Secondly it led to the introduction of english language which is a universal language. Thirdly the colonials introduced us to western civilization i.e their ways of dressing, modern hospitals, modern roads, Technologies e.t.c. even though it was for their own selfish needs.  Fourtly The colonials taught us the modern ways of governing which is still in use up to date (we had our own ways of governing before d colonials came). Fiftly the colonials Amalgamated the country as one and with that they used the resources from different part of the country to develop the less developed part. *There are other positive impacts but d ones av listed will be more agreeable even to a lame man.*

For the Negative impact. * Firstly they explored all our resources which splashed more light on what we've got and with that they went ahead to exploit us. Secondly they caused chaos in the country because they developed some parts at the expense of the others i.e Lagos, calabar, and wit that they built the spirit of enimity for the less developed ones over the more developed. Thirdly they gave authority to some high handed Nigerians i.e The warrant chiefs who misued their authority towards being hostile to fellow Nigerians like them. Fourtly they took along our resources to build their own country e.g nigerian geniuses. Fiftly they decieved African men by promising them job if they should fight along with them in the World war, and wit that some African men agreed but after the war the few of them that survived weren't given what they were promised so wit that they depopulated us. Sixtly they left us emotionally wounded because during their administration they made Africans feel like like they are nothing by telling them that nothing good can come out of Africans (black). *There are a whole lot of it but i don't want the negative impact to supass the positive*

colianism didnot introduce education or western culture rather it led to the spread of western education and culture due to their colonial policies.the effects of colonialism is neo-colonialism which in a nut shell is the under-development of Africa.that is the polical and economic backwardness of Africa.and in the case of Nigeria the amalgamation of nigeria by the british has often been said to be the mistake of 1914 and sir Ahmadu Bello was quoted to have said that "God did not create Nigeria but the Brithish did" after before they came we existed as independent and civilized groups with our organized system of govt, only for the through the wife of lugard gave us the name Nigeria.neo-colonialism is what is refered to as govt by remote control, that the economy and politic of the continent is controlled by an outside force.or else how do u explain the emergence of these multinational companies controlled by foreigners in ur own country and they are given loans in the banks while the citizens are left out.
