Nigeria's Worst Website

Fellow Nairalanders, kindly send in the worst Nigerian website(s) you have come across. You can also tell us why you think the website is the worst.

http://www.nuc.edu.ng/

Reasons:
Missing pictures and lots of dead links. The website does not even have a uniform design.

That website is more like a 12 year old blogspot. I 'll have to go with the same website.

The NUC site isn't particularly bad despite being rather unimpressive.  I've seen many worse sites.

Isn't the NFA's official site as bad as they come, or even worse than it could ever get?

Thank God they have redesign it a little bit. The site almost cost Obafemi Martins his career.

I'm not overly sure it could have cost him his career. Internationally, Nigeria has been known for its slipshod way of handling things. Inter Milan merely did that to restore some face that had been lost in the saga.

That McDonald scientific website is definitely the worst.

It wasnt' done by a professional web designer, so I'm willing to let that slip. Some overly excited kid I guess did that and so I don't want to place it as the worst Nigerian site. Like Seun said, there are many worse sites.

As to the Union Bank's site, I think it's trult the worst site of a bank I've found.

joftech.I AGREE with you, http://nigeriaplanet  has all the bad elements of a bad website

- Layout, colour, pop-ups (some of which seems pornographic to me), ....yikes,.......this is what I call "links junkyard".

http://registration.neconigeria.org
http://registration.neconigeria.org/index.aspx

This site's graphics and all others are OK. But it's not doing what it was setup to do.

Candidates for the 2005 NECO GCE can't complete their registration due to the inability of the server to handle all the requests. There are also bugs in the codes too.

I wonder why they have not stress-test the server before deployment.

Well those aren't so bad compared to what I've just found here on Nairaland. I guess the Neco thing is just like every other faux pas committed by Nigerian webmasters.

Some fella's asking a person to contact him for the redesign of his site and here's what this web-designer has as his:

hi,
I definately think that the NUC websie is the worst of the lot. take a look at it.... Where do you think the photograph of Prof Placid Njoku (a top guy in the organisation no doubt) was taken? see the washhand basin and tiles behind him... I'd say its in the loo if you ask me. for an organisation that represents the apex regulatory body of Universities in Nigeria it speaks volume... maybe it was delibrate to reflect things on ground... hmm...i can only wonder.

The Worst Nigeria site that i have seen in my life is NECO online registration (registration.neconigeria.org) this site is so bad that i have to do overnight browsing, i mean 3:am, i am unable to register myself, why i said that it is bad secondly, it is dealing with people educational life. Secondly it has so Many broken link, the first link  is index.htm, then index.aspx, another index.aspx, after that Maximum connection, erro loging in. Candidate information interchanging with other online candidate. i just can not count it. let me stop there for now.

They do not even provide room for editing/modification unlike waec, and the worst thing is that u cannot register your candidate and the registration date period is very very short just a month. it is the worst let them go to hell. They do not deserve a medal at all

I can understand how you feel Charlisco. I also had the same frustrating experience trying to complete a cousin's registration. But IMO, it's not the worst Nigeria site on the web today, there are many worse ones. In terms of functionality, I think there's so much to be done to it, but design's not too bad.

Go back to my previous posts and discover the worsts...two links. Ohmywebsite, etc...

I got your comment Farriel, i still hold my ground that they are still the worst, because they are playing with candidates edu. Career, could you imagine that some exam neighbourhood in some state particularly Delta state are there no more for you to register In, if you are the student that want to register in that center and you have no any other location of which you know someone apart from that place what then would be your fate, let say the truth, in terms of online registration they are not good at-all, they are frustrating many a candidate who wish to sit for the exam.

Right now it is few day to the closeur of the online registeration & many a student are yet to register, just think about that. and secondly one thing i hate about neco, when you complain to them, either through mail or reaching their office they pay no attention to you, saying that it is not within their power (*note: not their office in Minna)

Thirdly one thing i am taking note now is that candidate sitting in a specific center (exam town) are limited, that mean if your choice of center is filled, what is left for you is to choose any exam town which mostly are far from where your reside.

let me stop here for now.

Like I mentioned in my last post, Charlisco, the problem with the Neco site is more of it's usability and functionality. But all the same, sorry about the problems you experience while using it. But don't forget man, its still not the worst...  Smiley
