dude i dey ph and i dey go one chic house tomorow to configure her lappy to use mtn+yf. she uses E71 too.
i dunno if E71 is HSDPA (i'm too fat to walk up to gsmarena.com to check). if its hsdpa then u'll get such speeds.

u'll get such speeds if u subscribe to any of the mtn bundles too, God help u cuz u'll max their 3gig in a day.

I use my n95 as modem via its wireless (using joikuspot to make it a hotspot).
These speeds are a surprise to me too cuz in recent times its just been around 110kb/s but in the last 2 days e don increase by more than 100% (just how it used to be in the days we used opera to download stuff)

@Lynxnoon
She(Anita my Lappy) Started having 'Hanging issues'.If i move it,it would just freeze up or give me a BSOD.From there overtime,it refused to boot.The lights would just come up and the screen would remain blank while the ROM-drive spins as if searching for a bootable disc.After i dismantle and assemble(Removing Battery,CMOS battery,RAM and Hard drive) It might respond and come on,On one of those my 'dismantling operations' the wire connecting the screen to the board cut and that was when i gave up on the lappy,Very Painful Stuff.

Starcomms Blocked Google And Gmail?
« #1116 on: June 12, 2009, 03:20 PM »

can anybody confirm this ugly internet browsing experience which I have noticed in the last few days? It appears starcomms isp has blocked google home page and also gmail login page.

Is that the same experience with other starcomms users? if yes, lets cry out to them for correction of this error.
