Yeah Bibi

Good for good skill development, but wireless engineer? is what you say,  Wifi has been for a while as an alternative to the traditional wired networking, most company's abroad deploy wireless network in their enterprise even locally here in this theird world country of ours "Nigeria" so that staff can be mobile in the office, i.e you can move your system from one office to the other even at launch time you can go to the company's canteen and still get connected to your company's network, receive new emails and reply them on like the traditional wired network that is not mobile. Another advantage towards that is the mobility and speed, If your company decide to relocate tomorrow, all you need is to pick up your wireless point and computers and plung it again in your new office and you re on again onlike the traditional wired network, here you will need purchase another network cable and run fresh cabling, In terms of speed, wired network run at the speed of 100mbps maximum but wireless point of  BG class now run at 108mbps. A wireless point alone can connect 254 computer both desktop and laptop in a single network when they are all located in same coverage area, more and more the wireless world is promising.

Somebody like me can't wait for wimax technology to be popular out there and cheaper since its still new.

ok, just making a point, I know all there is to wifi and the likes. There is nothing like wired or wireless Engineer. You are either an Engineer with speciality in Wireless or wired technologies,  Wink

BTW: Never design a Wifi access point for 254 concurrent connections. That will mean 254 computers sharing 108Mbps , on top also the latency of Wifi which is technically slower than wired connections. Be sensitive to timed applications like mySAp. The latency will always keep it disconnected. Take care.

Hi Bibi

You re waking me hear, let me ask, what would you call somebody with CwNA,Wcnp, & Cwne?

I might decide to call my self wifi/wimax engineer if i have all the qualities of one, mind you there are lots of jobs out there requesting for a wireless engineer,,  as a matter of fact there people that focus on wireless security and never do anything than security, not that they can't do any other thing but that is there major, so what can you call them,

Try differentiate a wireless packect switche guy and the wireless circuite switche guy in your own lay man definations for me and not to find out on the internet, and let me see if you re the type to argue with

If you say there is specilization,i quite agree with you but what would you consider somebody with MCSE and Somebody with CWNE.

Both are in Information Technology both never share same specilization but engineers in their respective area of technical expertise.

This your last statement and i quote "BTW: Never design a Wifi access point for 254 concurrent connections. That will mean 254 computers sharing 108Mbps , on top also the latency of Wifi which is technically slower than wired connections. Be sensitive to timed applications like mySAp. The latency will always keep it disconnected. Take care."

I don't understand but if i try to get what you re trying to pass across, i will say that wireless point are design to connect 254 computers that fall in the coverage area concurrently and communicate at 108mbps data rate speed for BG of some vendors without a single colliasion since it's works in CSMA/CA mode onlike the CSMA/CD mode of wired network. Is just like you should say a Switche with 48 ports, that all the ports will run 100mbps concurrently, false here but each port has the capability and design to run at 100mbps maximum data rate speed.

Anyway I'll stop here and allow you to have a say.

enjoy your training, but please brush up. I'm not using this medium to discuss Wifi implementation protocols or designs.
Take care.

I have gone through the arguments between Bibi and Bolaji.  I think there is nothing wrong with both of you.  It is just a question of Bibi making sure that people don't throw their hard earned money in the air for a training that is worthless.  WORTHLESS to anyone who already is a wireless engineer or the sort like Bibi.  Please I am based in Warri and hardly get the chance of travelling out due to work.  However, if I decided to travel to PH for the course, may I please ask - how long is the course?  Can't it be done through correspondence with all the relevant gadgets (if any) supplied by you to the would be trainee.  Why not try Warri as another venue?  Finally, let me know the course duration please for PH. I am a software developer aspiring to be skilled in wireless networking

Hello jankoliko

What are we here for? i believe we are all here to protect one another collective interest. Anyway for your questioning, the course duration is 3weeks. Monring session and evening session.

Sorry we don't have any correspondant in Warri and as for the venue you said in warri, we are not still considering coming to warri since we don't have much interested participant there.

Please more of your findings can go to the address stated above, i believe somebody is there to attend to more of your questions.

Later.

Hello whiz!

For your question, ,   before i answer you, please provide me with the following.

Are you into IT already, if yes which field?
Not in IT but moving to IT?

Or If you are moving to IT new, you can be help to some extent but if you re in IT already but not in networking line, i don't think there is any problem with that. You can as well be help to some degree to meet up.

Two of our participant is trying to move from oil and gas to IT but has little knowlege in IT already but we promise to help them to some degree as well.

Regards
