I Take It In

I take it in
Like fresh air and a good cigar
Like sit back reflect cause every now and then its good to see life from a different perspective
I take it in like wet sand between my toes
Like watching the sunset and rise and marvel on the ingenuity of God to create such a divine definition of love
The world
I take it in
The pain
Like whips of a cane to the soul
Like war in the eyes of a child
Like blood on the hands of a widow
Like Lago’s words to Othello
Beware of the green eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on
Losing their life because the other can’t get none
Sometimes this world doesn’t feel right but who am I to change its direction
I take it in
Like a fatal injection
Deadly serum of deception
Every nation at a point has been lied to
Truth has been sacrificed for the so-called common good
I take it in though
Inhale the spokes of burning buildings and marshmallow on a stick
While I’m roasting marshmallows, bodies roast across the world
Knowledge is power…but sometimes I close my ears and choose ignorance
Can’t have that marshmallow burn
I take it in
Like your warmth on my skin
Like love is everything
I take love in
Like holding hands all day, talk all night,
Start small fights just to end the night freaky right
Like love songs, and sonnets
Like me, you and a bottle of wine,
Chocolate, strawberries and no concept of time
Like those days you were mine
I take it in
