Motorists in Kebbi to undergo psychiatric test

THE FRSC in Kebbi will compel erring motorists to undergo psychiatric test following an increase in abduction of road marshals.
The Sector Commander, Mr Wida Mshelia, said in Birnin Kebbi that marshals had been abducted, manhandled and injured.

“The psychiatric test is to ascertain erring motorists’ mental level to save marshals and innocent road users from attack.’’
Mshelia explained that three marshals had been abducted, manhandled and injured by motorists in the past two months, stressing that erring drivers would be charged to court.

He said: “It is pathetic that simple waving down of motorists by marshals for routine checks have resulted in manhandling of marshals for unjust reasons.

“I think such motorists need mental examination.”

He said the lack of patrol vehicles was a major hindrance to the commission in carrying out its duties.
He appealed to the Kebbi Government to provide the commission with patrol vehicles to enhance its job.

This is good news but I think our politicians also need to take such tests
