Sean Paul Calls Out African American Men
« on: June 19, 2006, 08:42 AM »

I thought this was so cute.

I love this song called Temperature.

Yet I was telling a friend how cute it was that Sean Paul was talking about stealing African American woman and they said they did not see it until I showed it to them.

, protect you from the storm,

That would be Katrina.

In the video, he has a woman in coat and they are all wearing coats.

As you know in Jamaica they do not need coats.

He also uses an exotic looking woman, non-Jamaican looking.

Normally in all his videos the women are overwhelmingly Jamaican looking.

He uses a Cadillac. Something African Americans are famous for.

My friend started laughing as we watched the video again and then she could see all the things that he was trying to convey.

I thought it was smart and nice of Sean Paul.

Jamaicans have been big in being able to influence African American music and dance.

Sean Paul is just one of the best reasons.

i have always wonder why the caribbeans(hardcore bashment n co) are more successful in term of music than nigerians,

I sat and listened to Nigerian radio hip hop. I thought it was wonderful.

The Nigerian rapper told somebody:

90 percent of your album come from somebody else.

Me and my sister were on the floor howling. That was a great line. We thought it roasted the person and we did not even know the person being roasted.

It took me a long time to adjust to African music.

But when I did adjust until I could understand the beats, I found that Africans are on some better beats than African Americans. Much deeper and more complex.

I was shocked. Frankly, we know that some do not understand that the music speaks to you, each beat meaning something different.

I am so used to impressing white folks easily with one or two beats.

I almost fell over when I could hear African music and hear that they are sometimes using 5 or more beats at a time. It is really talking to you, on more levels than African American music.

It is powerful stuff. It would be wonderful if there could be a way for African Americans to 'get it'.

Rap is tired anyways, African Americans are searching for the next music they will invent now.

Their flowing towards Jamaican but also Asian music is about to be absorbed.
