If your 11 year child ask you what pornography means , what would you tell him? He was reading a book, magazine, newspaper or something and came across the word.
What would you say???

I would tell them what it is. Kids want to know the truth. When you lie; they become more curious.
Try honesty- it works every time.

@edy - You're ridiculous. That probably what happened to Kirk Franklin- then he had a 14 year sex and porn addiction.

I will say "melli it means when people that are big let strangers make pictures of them necked. and not only that the men show their pipi and the women even that part of yor V that even i have not seen since you stopped wearing nappkin The hole. These people do it for money , some little money and some big money. There are some bad people that do this with children they all belong shot. But you my dear daughter when you are big you will sell your brain and not your body. Then our family dose not do things like that"

I would prefer telling him what it means. Because if u as a parent don't start informing your child about pornography/sex education at an early age he/she might grow up learning it the wrong way and trust me you wouldn't know whom 2 put the blame on but yourself. Also, trying 2 avoid such topics might end up ruining the child's life in the long run which in some cases makes one a pervert or prob a rapist. Sex education is much more better at a tender age.

It is something you should never take serious. It corrupts your mind and deviate it from the right way. It is the most degrading way of showing sex to the world!

Whenever a child of any age asks you any question, you have to be honest with him or her because chances are the educational process has started somewhere else other than from his or her parents.
Discussion time! But you have to be careful what kind of message you are sending. I usually let them tell me what they know first then go from there.
Gosh! Communication is always the key--nothing to hide in this age of "myspace.com"!
He or she has the right to know--even if it is not the whole truth about it all. They have the right to know!
@poster Of all the words in the book--Pornography is the word that caught his or her eye? Surely an 11 year old in this day and age knows about Wikipedia and has definitely used a thesaurus--unless his or her educational needs are not being met. No need to come and ask me then. This child definitely knows more than meets the eye and I would investigate further before "water pass garri"!

If your child should ask this question? Get him a dictionary and if he is not satisfied with the meaning, then ask him or her more question nad then you will be able to define it to his or her satisfaction

I don't have a child yet but when I do I hope n pray that I'll b able to impart to them proper knowledge of the world around them because I think if they learn what things really are they'll know how to choose the good. So pornography being a part of our world today it'll be essential to let my kids know what it is what it symbolises n how to deal wit it.
