Looking For A Good Friend Who Helped Me A Long Time Ago: Uk Residents please Help.
« on: August 03, 2008, 05:20 PM »

I am looking for this "once in a lifetime" gentleman who once helped me prior to my coming to the US. He lives in London. Married. His name is GARY Moluku. Not sure if the last name(moluku) is spelt right. Perhabs its MOLOKU.

Settling down and Immigrations issues makes it impossible to show gratitude since I got here. But anytime I remember this guy, I just feel I owe a debt yet to be paid. I will like the opportunity to show a sense of gratitude. Its overdue but I hope it will still serve its purpose. Now that I am a citizen here, I am so overwhelmed with gratitude everytime I think of this guy's help.

please if you know this guy or a way to contact him, please email me at *****@*****.com

THank you GARY. And regards to your family.

Thank you Sienna. Ah I wish my own case is not too overdue! lol.

I don't know what or how I  even intend to show my appreciation, this is a comfortable guy in every way, and me been here for over 5yrs now, it's really an embarrassment that I am yet to show my appreciation. But I hope if Gary sees what and how I've been able to achieve since I got here, maybe he'll be proud that he "did" help back then.

Just that one gets too pre-occupied in this system, but since he's abroad and used to the system, I hope he'll understand.

, Sienna, is there a particular way UK residents look for one another, provided they have real names of their friends? please advise.

@femigirl

thanks dearie,

I will try facebook and friends unite and see if I'll be able to find something. I've tried anywho but seems they only cater to US people.  I tried calling Tecsco London but they are evasive, can understand why. I used to have email with his contact but hotmail cancelled it for non-usage.

what is funny about life is you remember to do what is right after u get comfortable. Or maybe its just me. But what hunts me is just that one phone call at UBA in lagos, when I least expected I got a phone call from this guy (Gary) and he practically changed my life. Just like that. That moments keeps coming back every time I do something great here, that one day that changed everything. That one day that makes it look like if I was the one that did everything right, but nobody knew the source.

I just don't want to take anything for granted anymore, I mean show my feelings while there is still time to do it. Find a way to give back the way I've been given so generously, so unconditionally.

However when I tried to add you to my yahoo messenger(the one on my laptop) I signed in with my YIM alright, but error report came each time I try to add you. I don't know what am doing wrong.

I tried to navigate via this website like you suggested. It's so huge and I don't really know why to begin. Is this the correct website you meant when u mentioned electoral register?

http://www.islington.gov.uk/Council/political/VotingAndElections/register_voter.asp

also, is there any other way to talk to you via YIM, maybe you can add me to your messenger, so I'll just accept. Perhabs that'll work. thanks.

Is he married to an english lady ?  I know someone with that same name that i use to work with in Switzerland and then he moved back to the UK while i moved to the Seychelles but i still have his contact  but i need to be sure if it is the same guy u looking for . Can you send me an email and tell what help this guy did for you and what can bring back your memories to this guy , I will forward the email to him and i am very sure he will reply you if he is the one you looking for .

Ok, I appreciate your concern but what do you have in mind when you wrote that?

Is this suppose to be some type of interview for approval session? Write me and let me about the nature of help and I'll see what I can do? See if you qualify for white house access? Assuming you meant what you wrote, don't you think you're being just a little bit too "nosy" , almost downright rude?

, the reason for posting here is because it's easier to get things like this done because a lot of people using this site lives in diff parts of the world. My intention is genuine and out of deep heartfelt gratitude for a noble effort. Having said that, I can get anything I want when and if I want it. So simply put, rather than go through the rigor or entertaining you with emails and waiting for you to foward to whomever, I'd rather pay for the service. I happen to be in a country where I can get things done if and when they become necessary.

, on the other hand, I can reason that this may be an attempt to be protective. But there are better and more polite ways to handle privacy issues.

please continue to uphold the confidentiality of the contact you have. I have no further use of it. Thanks though for reading the thread.

Heah man i was not been nosy , there are 1000's of Gary  Moluku and i wanted to be sure if it is the same person i know that you looking for   that was why i said if you send me an email i will forward to him and then he can contact if it is him.

Anyways i am VERY  sorry if i sounded nosy or rude somehow,  didnt mean it that way .

Good luck

Hello Siena,

U're online, good.

Still couldnt get nothing done with the website. But I'm going to try to tell Uspry1 that I'm not lazy. I am eager to get done with the site configuration and concentrate on "using" and "managing" the site. What are u doing?

, but there is no getting away from this one.

, by the way, I still have that challenge from uspry1,

sorry don't be annoyed o,but really shouldnt you guys be doing your private thing on yim?you opened this thread to look for a particular guy/family that helped you out but seems like its digressed, the guy that tried helping you snapped at, just my 2 cents please don't take it the wrong way o

@lucabrasi,

this is not my private forum, why would anyone get annoyed because u aired your opinion? thanks for your observation though. good point about u made about the purpose of the thread which is to look for Gary.

, about snapping at the guy that try to help, I take it u mean "darkroll" right? Since u've been paying attention so much, u may have realised that I did apologise to him. I snapped because the manner of asking me to "personally email him to explain the nature of the help and why it keeps bringing memories, etc doesnt sit right somehow. It's like asking to write an essay to qualify for schoolarship. If I were to respond to the request, how will I begin?

perhabs like "dear sir, I met G.M,  on so so date, ____________________________________________________________ _________________________________ so please can u forward this email to him and let him know I wish to say thank you.

yours faithfully,
c.

, snapping the way I did is not an excuse though. I was at my wits end doing something else that's equally stressful. Reading that post right after that just well, but I  apologised. And indeed have emailed lots of other people that's gotten in touch to try and help, just don't feel I have to bring them all out here to state their names since they didnt want to the publicity to post here in the first place.

as for YIM privately with siena, I already did. Is there a problem with that? Is there a particular rule about threads, about disgressing? Your two cents would be most welcome. What do u have a problem with? Loyalty to Gary or your percieve interference of siena and my disgression. Please enlighten me.

, I didnt think I was doing anything wrong talking to siena. But I stand to be corrected. I read other threads and didnt know I was violating rules. If I am, then I'll stop. ka ju go?

I just want to state here that the electoral register in london is a good way to search for lost friends in London. Wealth of info there on UK citizens.

But for people who's been following the thread, the case of search for Gary became a success because of the assistance of a UK resident willing to help. I wish everyone luck in finding lost friends.
