@ Seun

Directors make movies out of novels, so it's your duty to make what's unfilmable filmable. A writer is not so visual but rather concentrated on the emotions he can possibly transmit to the reader.

If you a story then be ready to edit yourself otherwise ask for a more filmable format. Such as a play!

As far as I know, I have not rejected any stories for being too "emotional".  Write first and complain later.

It's only one person you will give 25,000, what about others who cracked their brain to write you the story? they got nothing??
"Cracking your brain" is not a bad thing because it makes you a better writer.  Practice makes perfect.  Ask Adichie.

Bros Seun, practice makes perfect at what?!

Only good practice makes good perfect, bad practice makes baddest/worstest perfect!!!

That is laziness talking.  There's nothing like bad practice.  The more you write, the better you become.

Focus, please.

Here's another list of random story points:
- School Excursions: hospital, zoo,
- Extra-curricular activities like debating, quiz competitions, chess, sports.
- Effectiveness and morality of corporal punishment.
- Rich students, poor students, spoilt students, abused students.
- Lesson teachers.
- Effect of parents' divorce or family trouble on schoolwork.
- Sex education.

There are different solutions to a problem.

What happens if you have more than one story you can work with?

Will you give the writers 25k each or?

My work is on the way

Ok, I'll stop.  There are two reasons why I decided to post those story ideas:
(1) To help writers with their brainstorming process.  (2) To silence those who think I'm just looking for ideas.

I have been away from Nairaland for a while now, and it is nice to run into this on my return.

Seun says he is a budding movie producer, so who knows if the movie he'll make will even repay his investment. I would have loved to write, but time is not at my disposal, and I got some great stories. True life too.

For all those who have the effontery to open their loud mouths to run this initiative down, just think: what did you ever invest 25k in, which you believed would work? Seun put nairaland together, give this dude some credit.

If the pay is too small for you, then just shut up and mess off okay. Seun kudos bros.
